Ghost

The sound of cracking bones echoed in the back yard of the estate where a mansion took residents. A scream bellowed out and the birds that were enjoying the once made peace flew off in a noisy squak in startlement. A big man stood over a curled up body of a scrawny man who was holding his arm that looked twisted out of place. "You f***ing bastard! You'll suffer for this!" The scrawny man screamed as he threw a knife at the big man with his one good arm. The knife had ventured way off target from the big man's body. "Ha! A toddler can throw better then that." The big man said with a laugh, "you didn't even graze me!" "Who said your body was my target?" The scrawny man said through clenched teeth. Several whoshing noises sounded behind the big man. With his adrenaline coursing through his body the big man dodged the onslaught of five flying knives. "Ugh!" Muffling his scream the big man felt one of the blades sink into his shoulder. "Damn it! I was careless." He growled. "What is going on out here?!" The voice of a young woman demanded, distracting both men. "Mistress! Don't be out here! It isn't safe!" The big man pleaded as he saw the about average weight looking woman with long, green hair. She wore a dark brown dress with frills seen around the edges of the bottom and arm parts. "Who are you to give me orders?" The woman snapped. "Mistress, I..." The big man was cut off as the scrawny man during the time of her appearance was able to regain his posture and ran past the big man right towards the woman with two knives in hand. "Die you b**ch!" The scrawny man spat out as he aimed for the woman's heart. "No!" The big man yelled as he tackled the other man with great force and broke the wrist that held the knives. "Disgusting scum! You're not even worthy to lay eyes on my mistress! Begone!" Then the big man grabbed the scrawny man by his ankles as the the attacker yelped in surprise and pain. Twirrling the attacker around like a marigold round the protector then tossed the attacker up in the air several feet away as the guards of the mansion finally made their way to the scene to apprehend the attacker. "Mistress! Are you ok?" The protector asked. With a look of irritation the woman folded the summer umbrella she was holding and hit the protector on his left leg with a smack. "That was for having the audacity to give me orders!" She snapped. She then smacked his right leg as she continued to speak, "and that was for causing me worry! How dear you put your mistress through such an emotional ordeal!" "Yes mistress! Sorry mistress!" The protector exclaimed with a bow. "Stop yelling. I'm right here." The mistress said with another smack to his leg. "My apologies mistress." The protector said in a lower tone. "Dear me." The mistress said in a softer tone as a look of concern crossed her face as she saw the blood seep out of his open wound on the shoulder. "You shouldn't keep putting yourself in danger like this. I have guards for a reason. Let them sacrifice themselves to protect me. I pay them enough to heed to my protection." "I know mistress. I just can't stand watching someone who means you harm come for you." The protector said. "Then you much prefer to die and leave your mistress broken hearted? How selfish can you be?" "I don't mean to cause you such turmoil my mistress." "Hmph! Since I am a merciful mistress I'll allow you to be patched up, but your punishment will be to get chained to my quarters as I do whatever I please. You're not allowed to even move. Do you understand me?" "Yes mistress. Thank you so much for your mercy." The protector said with another bow. "I don't want you staining the yard with your blood. Come now Ghost, so your wound can be tended to." The mistress said with a sharp tone in her voice. "I am to your desire, my mistress." Ghost said with a smile.
