Oh wow! did you go to acen then? how was the one in cali ? :D and I've been to a good amount xD I go to acen each year and i go to at least 2 other cons that are near my area or amke.

lol well u have to deffinately watch the OVA first XD i never did and was uber lost XP but really was abit out there (and dont elt the live action moments put u off, they become less and less more on XP) but ultimately a very good anime ^^ r u gonna watch nisemonogatari after :P?
