I'm pretty sure it just depends on what kind of family somebody ends up with, is kind of 50/50. When somebody's parents just hate a certain ethical group with passion, they usually inherit it from them (without even knowing why they hate them in the first place....usually xD). But other than that, people around our age a lot more open-minded or just simply don't care.
No idea if this is true, but I've heard something similar can be found in China (except with tourists or somebody who moved there to study or something). Meaning that the older people are not the biggest fans of outsiders and are very careful to trust any of them. But young ones like you actually tend to be curious about the rest of the world, and find foreigners living there fun.

Thing is, latitude and similar measures don't mean much in that part of the world. My hometown should be around level of like north Germany or maybe Britain, so climate should be mild and pretty tame, but we're still considered a sub-arctic region despite of that.
Winters are like outside of Santa's workshop and snow doesn't melt till April. But....because we're not actually in the upper North, summer days can reach up to a scorching hell of 41°C....like it was yesterday for example....

Next day however, it may drop to like 11, the sky remains clear, but due to our strong winds 24/7 you can look forward to an evening full of thunder hail the size of sugar cubes that will ruin your car.
I guess....it's a tiny bit like a real life version of Grand Line from One Piece. xD Nothing makes sense, and weather usually gets so chaotic and random you will almost always put on the wrong clothes before going outside.
Actually, we were some of the few "crazy" ones who moved there willingly. Because....we kiiiinda always fuckin' HATED anyone who ruled us at the time (oh I wonder why -_-'). So moving to such isolated place meant a nice peaceful life for us. But as you already know, it did not go as planned....LOL
Hahaha you're a big fan of Nordic mythology huh? Yes, and then Asterix and Obelix came out of nowhere, ruined everything, and nobody took us seriously in war anymore. So we made a name for ourselves with food instead, just like those unfortunate Romans....

Hmmm....I think I've been here a little something over 4 years? Not sure how much exactly, but it's definitely somewhere around that. Was bored out of my mind one summer, so I stumbled upon this place after surfing a bunch of random nonsense and felt like trolling a bit. Instead I ended up meeting some rather interesting people to which I still talk to this day. I don't think I'll ever understand how life works....lmao
