I didnt know that yama also existed in buddhism! The meaning of buddhist yama and hindu yama is slightly different!
Budhist yama is the one who judges the dead souls and determine where they will go...
Where as the hindu yama is the one who judges then living and determines if they should die or not! And comes to take their life at the time of their death (shinigami)
Lishifu @hakutaku In China, we have had so many dead souls...so some Chinese people shoulder the responsibility of judging dead souls and determining where they will go for him...As for Japan, Yama doesn't have so many brilliant helpers so he deals with most dead souls by himself .
. @vezax 0_0 chinese people help gods.. mind blown!
. @vezax Its usually the other way around in other countries (gods help people)
Lishifu @hakutaku Mortals can be deities in China.
. @vezax 0_0 is that for real??
Lishifu @hakutaku Yes. Historically famous people were deified by the masses. That Mazu, the besr example.
. @vezax Yes mazu is its example.. and i honestly find that a very weird culture! I wonder if the people who are deified (during their living time unlike mazu) feel good or bad about it...

Hey, I'm currently studying neuroscience; in particular what genes influence cell shape. I find the complexity of the human genome has a lot of interesting things left to uncover. How about yourself, as a self proclaimed bibliophile are you studying anything interesting at the moment?

I saw a different mythology about ENKI when i read about mesopotanian civilization. They described ENKI and is race as an alien race who came to earth in planet nibiru in search for gold!? and enki was the one who created humans to dig up gold for them!? is that anything related to u mam!!??
. @vezax i actually liked the mesopotanian mythology, tbh since a long time i was asking myself why humans value gold so much when it is soo useless(only usefull in space activities and in olden times there was nothing related to space).. if the story of ENKI is true then it basically solves that question, as we are just following the traditions ENKI and the alien race set on us..
Lishifu @hakutaku Aliens and ancient civilizations..It reminded me of Archaeological Ruins at Moenjodaro...
. @vezax Yes indus valley civilization has always amazed me! But i havent heard anything about alied involvement in it.. o.O

Oh no. Finland is almost a neighbor then to them + China and a few others. To think how small the world is ^^.
Lishifu @hakutaku Some people do mistake Finns for Russians (─‿─).
