hmmm lemme see. iv never actually debated anything like this before xD as apart of my moral framework i believe that a negative emotion will always usurp a positive one. this is really the common consensus among people, and that is why things like rape are immoral. even if the rapist got to feel good we hold the victims pain above his pleasure. i would then extend this to sentience. i think it is inarguable that we, as the species with the highest form of sentience, are also at the highest capability to feel the most intense forms of pain, especially emotional and mental. this isn't a pragmatic or utilitarian argument ofcourse. i see no way of fixing this unless you kill yourself. but it just seems like the logical extension of my belief system, which is also the belief system of many other people. i think that death is a relief in many aspects, because we only fear it when we are alive. in death we fear nothing. life brings all sorts of strife and pain, but death is nothingness. what we will feel at death is what we felt preconception, absolutely nothing. and i think morally, that's preferable again i believe in bodily autonomy and if someone wants to live I'm glad, people need to be alive to work jobs to keep society going, but it just seems to me that life is the cruel thing imaginable we are given life without consent and are then afraid to lose it. just seems so cruel.
