i have like 35ish mins before i have to dipset to drop off a bday present for a friend but if you don't mind we can start now and pick it up later! before I can answer that, I think i'd like you to define basic moral consideration. to me that is not equivalent to refraining from the slaughter and consumption of nonhuman animal flesh, but clearly from your rationale it does. as it stands I do believe animals are qualified for basic moral consideration, but am unsure as to why it explicitly has to be abstaining from their consumption. I tend to feel alienated when say 'animals' but generally don't include humans. I think it fetishizes our sapience just a bit to act superior in that way to the animal kingdom. I could rant a lot more on that but i wanna hear your thoughts

curious if youd like to have the vegan ethics discussion now? I apologize if you've already answered this in our previous discussion and I've forgotten, but can you reiterate why you believe animals are unqualified for basic moral consideration?
