The original coca cola was invented by John Pemberton. He was a Confederate soldier that got addicted to Morphine due to his treatment for a sabre wound during the Battle of Columbus. He made coca cola to get himself off the Morphine. The original coca cola had cocaine in it. Today, the coca cola company still imports the coca leaf but has the cocaine removed.
