I think I have that! I'l need to check, though, I might not have had it since I reloaded my Windows partition :( If I recall correctly, it was one of the games I'd been intending to redownload if it was gone, so... sure! :)

It depends on the situation, but if you mean when the thing that would require payment is unnecessary, or there is a free socially acceptable alternative, quite so.

It's nice that some places like this are free (I'd been planning on gathering up a bunch of Paypal credits and cashing them in for a subscription until I realized how un-happening this place was, to use a phrase I'm sure is thirty years out of date). Any other place would be completely unaffordable, except for normal (generally free anyway) social networking sites like Facebook, and obscure forums.

Yeah... I always forget how lucky it is that there's a summer-session community pool near my house, for a yearly fee instead of a per-visit fee. That's also why I usually don't get to go swimming any season except summer, or use the local exercise facilities: Money better spent on necessities instead of helpful-but-not-necessities.

Oh, I don't really play basketball, but I like to play H.O.R.S.E.! And I like to swim, but, as you can tell from the vampires thread, I have to swim indoors or at night. Other than that, I don't really do any sports that aren't on the Wii.

Okay! ...Well, it'as been a long time since I might a new friend who wasn't introduced to me by someone else. What do you like that isn't in your profile? Like, hobbies and stuff?

Aw :( Yeah, I hated back when I was still in high school, since (among many other things) they didn't have an anime club until the year after I successfully applied for early graduation, and I didn't know the college club let non-students attend until I'd already joined. Maybe there's something in your area in an unexpected place, or even something related to a non-anime interest you might have where someone there likes anime.

Hm. Odd, perhaps. I checked the site on Google, and it says it was last officially updated in early May. I don't know if gaps that long are normal for that site, but they're not healthy for a website like that. Well, there's still always real-life clubs (gatherings of people, mostly university students, who share a common interest such as anime, not clubs like nightclubs), since the ones I care about meet in the late evening but sadly don't start again until early autumn.

Yeah. I've been trying to find another otaku dating site to use for potential dating while I use this one for platonic chatting and stuff (in English, anyway, there are probably scads of seedy websites in Japan for Otaku Seeking Otaku), but the only other one I found seems not only at least as, ah, "defunct" as this one, but I read that it's run by people who run a bunch of other themed dating sites from the same barely-differing template (I didn't sign up there; I doubt I could even remember what it was called). Maybe it's because the economy is making it difficult to be a hardcore anime fan, or the lines are blurring between people who don't hate anime, people who merely like anime, and otaku so a lot of people who would normally be here are on mainstream sites or already dating.
