yeah i feel ya. i grew up on sci fi channel horror films xD
thats why creative kills are the best kind, and its kinda hard to think of a movie that does that
maybe final destination if you count that as a horror?
https://media2.giphy.com/media/JDgDEM81yPCgw/source.gif

Lamby @momoichi pod people also had a good story though. the black and white one was 100% psychological horror

Great Daddy MH39 @gdmh39 I have always been watching sci fi / horror movies like this... "how was dat scene made? how did they do dat effect ? soo cool OWO!!!"

Lamby @momoichi i mean the scifi channel >w>/ theyr known for their discount original horror films, but as a kid it did the trick xD whats your fave horror film, gdmh-tan >w>?

Great Daddy MH39 @gdmh39 oh my lord I was so much a fan of old slashers xDD but if you would count sth new I think the babadook got me in awe? XD bcs it was more creepy and not 90% jumpscares xD

BurningHalo @burninghalo Final destination just gets silly with it's kills

Great Daddy MH39 @gdmh39 final destination 1/2 was funny to watch I liked the chain reactions xD

Lamby @momoichi im gonna rewatch the film later tonight actually, its been ages xD i thought the kills were pretty clever, like what gdmh-tan said >w>/

Lamby @momoichi AAAHHHH the babadook! that shit was such a classic! (though i did cry when she killed the dog that wasnt ok ;w;) the child actor was pretty bad in a lot of his scenes but the over all message about your monsters never going away and just needing to be maintained was an amazing ending. but the monster noises when the babadook takes her over were dumb, only bad part (that and the vibrator scene cause i was watching it with my mom so that was hella awkward)

Great Daddy MH39 @gdmh39 UMU!!! I might rewatch em too they were really good planned out xD

Lamby @momoichi oohh and did you realize that she made that book herself?? because it says her job is a childrens book writer. SHE MADE THE BABADOOK UP ALONG WITH THE BOOK!!!! aahhhh such a good film~

Great Daddy MH39 @gdmh39 OH LOL RIP XD

BurningHalo @burninghalo I have not. Didn't ever catch my interest Lamby. But you do make it sound fascinating. I guess I always just found monsters more grotesque than terrifying.

Lamby @momoichi wweeellll it uses a mix of practical and computer effects, some are more practical than computer and vise versa. the ending was garbage, typical "this isnt rated R so we cant have a good ending" its a 13-rated ending for sure. there are 5 monsters if i remember correct, and the pale monster (the gif) was easily the best. 0 jump scares with her just pure unease. otherwise there were jumpscares and i wouldnt say its a scary movie, but it has very unsettling moments. theres nearly 0 blood if any and the killing methods are pretty unique instead of just gore. the movie starts great and as it goes it kinda gets worse? first monster is best for kill method, second is best for its semi disturbing scene, third monster is the scariest in my opinion and i believe its the most done in practical effects (the gif above) last ones suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck bad balls. because these are kids horror stories, it feels slightly childish, but put on its head to be made disturbing and i think that adds to the creep. my mom didnt like it but i did. id recommend personally, specially if your mostly interested in the monsters >w>/ TLDR good monsters, practical and CG effects mix, 0 gore deaths, clever deaths.

BurningHalo @burninghalo Well I'll look into it. Excessive gore, jumpscares, guro, and gross shit does not sound scary(it's for all those reasons I saw the latest IT remake are more of a comedy than a horror flick) Hey this might seem dumb to ask considering you're a weeb and all but are you familiar with Japanee horror? If you want to see creepy frightening stuff, go for the Easter aesthetic.

BurningHalo @burninghalo *Eastern...

Lamby @momoichi iv seen only the classics, like the american grudge and Ringu. yeah japanese are the masters of the unsettling atmosphere. ever seen the original texas chainsaw massacre? that did a pretty good job of unsettling atmosphere and not much blood (minus the beginning where he cuts his hand that was just dumb) i think whats more important is practical affects. CG is not scary nor has it ever been nor will it ever be. the first hellraiser is the best example of practical effects at its peak. even if you dont find it scary it still looks awesome
