I am what I'd like to think is an Original Anime fan from the get-go. before kindergarten I was watching shows like "Kimba the White Lion", "Gigantor", "Marine Boy" and especially "Speed Racer" They were all my favorites at one time or another. I of course had no clue they were Japanese in origin. I was also a big fan of Godzilla and other giant monster films. so I had a good healthy mix of Japanese culture mixed into my upbringing. I did like other things over the course, like Spider-man. When that original cartoon came out, I loved it. Later on my friends and I discovered "Star Blazers" and that was it! That series was what brought my attention to Japanese animation. The term that was being used at the time was "Japanimation", which was perfectly acceptable and used used in magazines like "Starlog". I have followed it since. But the big cable and internet boom of the late 90's made it so accessible to kids that we have millions of new fans that have brought it into popular culture. I am a stronger fan now than I have ever been. I attend Anime expo every year since 2009. I wish I had known of it's existance in the '90's and I don't know why I waited so long to go, but it was great! The last couple of years there have been a little shaky but it's still interesting. I also am working on a Graphic Novel/Comic series at the moment. And I'm looking into getting a kickstarter campaign to start up an animation company. I figure you might as well do what you love. I currently work in Broadcasting for a horse racing network and I ride a Ninja 250 to commute on. I'd like to do a lot of outdoor activities like skiing and going to the beach if I can find someone who'd like to do that sort of thing. Sailing would be nice too. I also love just going to the movies or playing video games; especially online games like Halo. I even like perfectly normal stuff like everyday people like going to the mall shopping or going out to eat. So send me a greeting if you'd like to chat.
