To all Californians: On this November ballot, please vote yes on Prop 55. It really only sustains the increased tax on individuals that make $250k+ a year, so if you make less, it won't affect you financially in any way. 89% of it will help continue to fund public schools and children's healthcare while the remaining 11% will be allocated to the community colleges, helping out students there who can't afford healthcare and for professors. It hits me on a personal level, because like most of you, I did attend community college classes in high school and the most inspirational teacher I've had was recently laid off. Luckily for her, she's saved up enough to get through retirement. I hear a lot of stories from people in community colleges who choose to use their money on courses instead of health insurance and it's a little disheartening to hear. Prop 55 is 100% transparent on what they do, so if you could, please vote yes on it. On the ballot, it should read "Let our children thrive; vote yes on 55." Thank you in advanced!
