I personally I need the physical part of the relationship (not necessarily sex) but I need to be able to hold, kiss, and love on my girl but maybe that's just me how do you guys feel about it?

Doesn't matter too much to me. If I were to like a girl I wouldn't consider distance that significant of a barrier. That said, closer is always better on the wallet.

And I'm talking about being far enough away that you would be lucky to see them once every 6 months or so

That doesn't sound bad for me if you like them enough. Then again that's me.

Say, weren't you the guy that said MO worked out for you like yesterday? XD
What happened to that?
EDIT: Nvm, read your post, that sucks.

Well, I'm a VERY touchy feel-y hug loving person... But if it was someone I truly loved & the distance wouldn't be forever, I'd deal with the distance.

Yeah it does suck I just need to be able to hold her and I couldn't so it didn't work out

but could you fall all the way in love if you met on here and knew it would take years before you could ever be that close?

What I eventually want to end up in is a long-term relationship, not a casual fling or a con hookup, so where a person lives isn't necessarily a deal-breaker if we're in love--but there needs to be a commitment from both of us to see each other when we can; I'm willing to drive to see them or have them come here to visit, or for us to coordinate going to the same con(s) together.
And if we're truly in love then one of us is going to have to be willing to eventually relocate in order to be together.
I think that's really the key for making LD relationships work--maintaining contact, intimacy and emotional engagement despite the distance, and having an endgame plan once things are serious.
(This comes from lessons learned after many years of meeting people online, both successfully and not.)
