The end of the movie "X" when Camui is forced to kill his childhood friend Fuuma. That's probably the saddest moment in anime for me although I think I felt nearly if not equally sad during Toonami's infamous "Final Broadcast" with Tom's farewell. I felt like I'd just watched my dog die :'(

I'd have to say every other episode of Rainbow: Nisha Rokubō no Shichinin made me cry. Honestly, it was the first show to make me feel the way it did...

The first anime to make me actually sad enough to cry was Air. The saddest since is a tie between clannad and when Nuriko dies in Fushigi Yuugi.

I should have known better to expect spoiler alerts, I scrolled through something I shouldn't have! Alright guys, gonna go get plastered and try to forget what I saw, haha, damn XD But my very first was when I was really really young, when ash saved pikachu from the pack of fearows (I believe it was fearows). My most recent was angel beats where Yui disappears after Hinata confesses and says he'll marry her, I thought it was so sweet and it shocked me. Gave me goosebumps!

Spike doesn't die. The creator already stated that. Ace's death was the saddest to me.
