FOR GIRLS ONLY!!! Ok... um what is your thoughts on Yaoi

I don't think there's anything wrong with Yaoi or Yuri. But I think the characters should already swing that way. A lot of so called "yaoi fan girls" never even picked up a real yaoi book and just like pairing straight characters together from normal anime/video games. This, I feel is disrespectful to the authors/creators. Not just of the normal anime, but of the yaoi as well. If they like boys with boys, buy/watch and promote the actual stuff made for your interests instead of taking someone elses characters and bending them to what you want them to be. All that is accomplished by doing this is that the people who make Yaoi and yuri aren't getting the money they COULD be getting if their fan base were actually staying in their genre of interest, and the people who make normal anime/manga have to see their characters being portrayed in a way they are not meant to be. As a writer, if I had people taking a friend relationship between my characters which I consider my pride and joy, and warping it into a sexual relationship I would be highly offended. And as a fan, I don't like seeing my favorite characters made out to be something they're not. When I'm online looking for pictures of straight characters from straight anime I don't like seeing characters paired with who they shouldn't be paired with according to the author/creators. But when I type in actual yaoi you hardly see ANYONE making fan art of actual yaoi. When Sailor Moon Crystal was staying true to Uranus and Neptune's true relationship people were like; "Yea, they should stay true to who they are." "They shouldn't change their sexual orientation." And I think that goes for ALL characters. Fan or media, you should not defile a character by changing who they are especially sexually. The younger kids still into Beyblade and such can't even look at pictures of innocent children anime without their characters being Yaoi-fied. I think if people like yaoi they should read/watch actual yaoi and draw actual characters from the manga/anime they read/watch. And if they like a pairing of characters from a normal anime/manga, and want to post it on the internet, then in respect to the authors/creators and the fans they made it for, I think they should make original characters based off those characters. Even if they look similar with similar names and abilities. There is nothing wrong with gaining inspiration and making something out of it. It just shouldn't be the actual characters. But yea, Yaoi and Yuri are fine as a genre. I haven written Yaoi myself but with original characters.

I have personally never watched Yaoi, though I have had female friends that enjoyed it. And when I asked them, why a straight female would want to watch a show idolizing a relationship between two men that would have no interest in her as a person ( for the fact that she was female,) she replied, "cause its funny." She continued to describe several scenes where the males would dress as woman, and complain about the make up they had to wear ( for some reason)and other antics where one of the characters were in a compromising position, and how that type of situation, placing a masculine-ish character into a submissive/ feminine role was amusing. I mean I guess I do get that. When Cloud had to dress as a girl to save Tiffa I found it funny for two seconds. But I know Yaoi is not all comedy based. Well, to each their own. If it makes you happy to watch it then do so, I say. I judge no one and believe that same gender relationship can have just as deep and intimate love stories as male to female character orientated plots.

I like yaoi, I find it funny and sometimes the drama is nice somehow better than normal people relation,( I hate normal people btw :P it's my evil type can't do anything about it) like sekaiichi hatsukoi it was nice and sweet :3

@lucille yeah i keep hearing that term for it not too. As for yaoi and yuri they just seem to have an attractive romance quality to them that makes it really cool. I'm not entirely sure about the sex part though.
