Saddest anime deaths?

Lelouche's was awful. but i think Mariko/Kurama from Elfen Lied was worse. maybe it just hit me harder 'cause that was the first series i watched through, but that was pretty heart-wrenching.

it's true that yagami's death was sad mostly because he was tricked the whole time while still believing in his son. and man the deaths in Elfen leid are always sad, bloody, or both

Elfen leid for as short as it was, was so good. Not going to lie though when my friend first showed me it I thought it was going to be a hentai I was like really -_-

you know what else was sad in kenshin, when the entire Oniwabanshū Sacrificed themselves to help kenshin and Aoshi win the fight

Not one person has said Going Merry's death was sad..... I cried real tears.....
