Why would you date an Otaku?

I found this article that seems fairly interesting, about a poll done in Japan that asked why people would want to date an Otaku. I think it's a bit funny that both say their partner would be more faithful when I think anyone could be faithful or unfaithful, depending on the person. I personally would prefer to date an anime otaku because anime plays a rather large role in my life and someone who had no interest in it would probably tire of me. But what do you all think? Personally I would love to date an otaku girl because anime is my biggest most time consuming hobby. However I don’t agree with or like the way otakus are portrayed in that article.

I lean towards Hero Worship more than Anime/Manga, but I still consider my self an Otaku. If I met a girl who was strictly an Otaku and had no interest in comics, I'd be ok with that as long as she was Ok with me liking Comics more than Anime/Manga. I'd still date her.

Personally I would also date a Otaku guy because anime is big in my life. I'v dated a few people who were not into anime and it ended badly.

The true question here is... Why not date an Otaku?

I agree with jpb^ I love Anime. So much time is spent on it I'd probably fail in the relationship if the guy didn't watch it with me.

I'd have more in common with them so We could talk about more stuff! And we go to conventions!! I bet any other guy would object to that idea and I'd probably wouldn't hear "Hey, you watching that cartoon porn thing?
