dating at a con

itzteknical
Of course even after you tell them what the person says, it's all on you at the end of the day to make something out of it.

I get what youre trying to say. Thank you for the social lession :D

By the way, if you do meet a girl that your interested in. Don't be afraid to ask for a number, "Can I add you on FB?," or messenger because mostly everybody here including myself are way better talkers when it's not face to face. lol
blazingbow1
ugh, I hate to admit it but that true for me as well. Should I ask the number, or facebook, or both?
itzteknical
Ask both, like "Can I get your number or add you on FB?" And I just want to get a little more into this for just future readers. If you do get the number, 1. Exchange phone numbers, not one person gets a number, 2. Don't keep sending texts just for a reply If you get the Facebook, 1. Don't go liking everything she posting, it's weird unless your really cool with them. 2. Message them but don't keep sending messages for a reply, its annoying If the person doesn't text you back or answers your message. They probably just not into you but don't let your hopes down because of it. Plenty fish in the sea.

Wait, I have to make a good impression and/or not be awkward?... There goes at least 80% of my ideas... *crosses off pickup lines like "Excuse me sir, do you know the times" and "If you were a statue, I'd be pretty impressed with the artist who made you. I mean, it's no mean feat making a statue as human like and as good looking as you. But then again, I'd be more concerned that you're walking about and talking. So you are technically an android, not a statue... I must prepare countermeasures."* When asking for contact information, I'd go with something like, "I'd like to talk to you more, what would be the best way to do that, if that's okay with you." Or something like that. I kinda wing stuff like that, but it'd be something like that. I think you really just need to mingle and be yourself. If someone likes that, they may show interest in you... Ah, real life social interaction, so much more complicated than in my Visual Novels...
blazingbow1
Everyone say mingle but how do I got on approaching ? If only popup would come I would have. Something to say at least...

That's true... At the last con I went to, I didn't see any popup or flag events... This whole "seamless" social experience is lame. They better fix this in the next patch. Being me, I'd just go up to them and be my awkward/weird self and hope they somehow find that amusing and talk to me rather than beat me senseless with a prop sword. Sometimes I don't mind being embarrassed or making a fool of myself. Otherwise, I go for the "hide in the corner and think about how I'm suppose to interact with fellow humans" approach. Hasn't worked so far, but that doesn't mean it never will.

Human interaction is so complicated. I'm in the same boat as you guys and I do the same things you guys do to. "Hide in a corner and think about how "i'm suppose to interact with fellow humans." It's not easy for any of us. But if I were to went to con, and see someone cosplaying as someone I like (a girl ofc), I will talk to that person as the character and just have a good time with it.
