Cutting

I know this is not part of this subject but playing online games I run into teen girls who cut. Everyone if you run into this please do all you can to help. Read on the subject and help these trouble teens. I think is just sad and stupid for people to let their emotions control them like that.

some people can't really help it. even if you try to help and show them that you do care the still end up hurting themselves.

Cutting really is a psych issue. For people who have no expertise in dealing with that kind of situation, I don't know how much help you can really give the person. Unless you have a significant connection with them. And even then that might be more detrimental than anything. Psych stuff is tricky

Fun facts: 1.) It's not just an emo teen girl thing 2.) For a lot of people, it's more of an addiction or release method. I can vouch for this, as I have countless scars running up my arms, chest, and sides from my late teens. Makes me damaged goods to 90% of the dating pool. Shit sux man. Honestly in my opinion, the best way for a person to deal with it is to confront it and work it out themselves. Improving themselves and finding other outlets (unfortunately, mine was alcohol) can help give positive thoughts and self-worth. And with this post, I've stuck a giant red flag over my head.

I dealt with this once and manage but I have no connection with this one but she does seem to be seeking attention. So I know to tread carefully. I just wanted to raise awareness about this problem.

Cutting is a sad thing but, as J_Awesdome said, it can become an addiction. It took a while for my lil sis to stop her cutting and was only achievable because all of us that loved her never gave up on her and because she was able to get help as well as find an outlet. I don't know much about it but I do know that it's a painful thing to hear about and see.

J_Awesome, we are all "damaged goods", just in different areas. I have never understood folks looking for a match with "no drama." Life is drama and we are all damaged goods. You have your choice of damage. I want my next partner to be aware and up front about things. Not with thier head in the sand. Love people for who they are.

Meeting them in online games seem like an attention ploy imo. Unless you know them and they trust you. J_Awesome youre not alone in that. Im at the point where i cant have any sharp objects in my home.

I agree, life is drama... some people bring more with it than others. But someone who is self harming seriously needs to work on themselves and their self esteem... Been there done that and brought the t-shirt... Never going to make yourself feel better about yourself doing that kind of thing.
