Age of Consent and Enjo Kosai

Since this is an anime site (and i bet there are some of you who actually want to live in japan)I wanted to ask you guys of that you thought of it. Being raised in japan, it was normal for me to hear of it all the time, but now i am in the US, realize that maybe the age "13" is too young for people to be able to have sex,and also have "sugar daddies" (i think that's the term for that) But there are cities that don't go by this age and goes by 17 as the age of consent, like tokyo, but And there are cities that still do, despite the claims of immaturity and the "enjo Kosai" as being "Child prostitution" (also as for the case of rape, they are "old enough" for it not to qualify as child rape, which would receive a higher prosecution ) But i want to know if you think of this. I have heard from people who say that is it is outrageous and heard from others that it's better that other countries in which the age is "puberty" or "none" (which i honestly think there isn't a country labeled "none") Also, what is the "Age of Consent in your country and/or state? (You don't have to answer if you don't want, Have a nice day!)

Well Most States the age of consent is 16 but that is consent with someone who is under the age of 18. If they are over 18 it is considered Statutory rape and can get you into hot water. While there are exceptions usually the law tries to go after the adult in those cases. This country really comes down heavy when kids are involved.

I didn't start having sex until I was 18, though the legal age of consent is 17 in my state. I think that sex is for people who want to have sex. If you're a horny 12 year old and you want some vigorous bedtime exercise, then go find another horny person and have at it. That being said, I don't think horny 12 year olds should be having sex with horny 40 year olds. Even if someone can physically have sex, that doesn't mean they're mentally ready for a mature partner. I think it's important to find someone you connect with on a mental level. That's the other side of sex, isn't it? Connecting with someone? Unfortunately not everybody is responsible enough to stick to people their own mental age. That's why we have dead children with foreign objects shoved up their important parts.

I know that it is illegal for a teacher to have sex with an 18 year old student. Isn't that strange? I guess the most fitting English definition would be an escort date. Both rely on the same principle that money and/or gifts are exchanged for companionship. Therefore I do not see Enjo Kousai as child prostitution. That's ridiculous. However it doesn't not mean that prostitution doesn't occur. There are those who do prostitute themselves during such a date. Prostitution is illegal there so I frown on anyone that does that. You should obey the law. <P> I think the the ability for a minor to have sex depends on their maturity and responsibility. A lot of countries have their different regulations about it. I think in Japan the age of consent is like 12. As strange as that might be to westerners it's not so much when compared to other countries. I stay just obey your government's laws. You don't wanna get in hot water because of it. It'll always haunt you.

Yes that is the case for Texas (however, here in plano, a couple of teachers got arrested for pedophilia)However, even when over the age, you cannot date a teacher if they are your homeroom teacher. And yes, this is on texas. Although the internet gives a simple idea of Enjo Kousai. When i say it as to be an example of child prostitution, i mean these children are having sex with these elder men for money and designer stuff. It sounds like only a light case, but i have actually been able to witness and hear my old friends and penpals as they went through with these enjo kousai. But i still feel like the age should be bumped up. The age in Japan as a whole is 13, but like in the US, varies from place to place. Tokyo is an example of this because they made it to be 17 older to be an adult.

I think the age of consent is a pretty meaningless number to be honest. Many people in Japan don't even know that the federal age of consent is 13 because local laws, as well societal consensus point to a higher age. It's a tricky situation in Japan because the young girls have their numbers distributed but meet privately. Sex is implied but never promised, and in fact many simply offer escort services with nothing sexual at all.

Age of consent is 15 in Romania but it's traditionally 18. Yet it doesn't matter because majority of people will do it starting from the age 12 up to age 17 anyway. I'll most likely be a virgin forever since I don't even dare to approach a girl irl, but I don't complain about it since it makes me look more unique being in a country where they all lost their "innocence"... It's sad that some (or actually most) people irl here think with other parts of their body first >_>
