Only if the question was asking if a chicken or a general egg came first because otherwise how would you have a chicken egg if what laid it isn't identified as a chicken

What does it matter. They both exist now, so who cares which came first. Which came first, a baby human or an adult human? If the baby came first, who feed it to keep it alive? Who gave it warmth and taught it the way of the land and survival? All is weak on this floating rock.

Technically speaking all animals are born from eggs (yes, even we humans). Even if the eggs aren't laid outside the mother, they're still eggs, so the egg came first.

This debate assumes that time is linear.
This may only be our limited perception. It's entirely possible that all states in space-time exist simultaneously.
