Ah I remember my first year in college. I spent most of my time watching anime and playing video games with my friends too That's when I got put on academic probation for low grades ( ̄~ ̄;)

I went to tech school, so I didn't get the 4 year experience like a lot of younger people do. Got a two year degree in management although I can't really say I've applied it very much. I work as an Asst. Manager at a local GameStop now and worked at a hotel for 5 years previously as an overnight desk clerk. It's not great but it pays the bills. College can be an invaluable experience, but I definitely would suggest trying to pick a major where there's a good chance you'll be able to land a job right out of school. It's easier said than done I know, and I've thought about going back to school to get a bachelors, but I didn't really see much of a benefit for me versus putting myself massively more in debt to get a slightly better degree that wouldn't benefit me much more in the grand scheme of things.

If you want a major that's hiring without fail and you're not picky, do medical. You'll always find a job!

I do agree medical always needs people because of how many patients in the us there are alone for a multitude of reasons the medical field is definitely a open one

Also, people with engineering degrees are high in demand, however hiring engineers has been extremely difficult for companies recently. America used to have some of the most talented engineers, especially during the Cold War, but now most of our most talented homegrown engineers are retired or soon to be. Starting in the 90's and into the last decade, American colleges and universities have been graduating more and more people with liberal arts degrees, and those graduating with science degrees in technical fields have been fewer, so many companies have been forced to hire foreign engineers to meet demand. It's a very math and science intensive field, but you will always be able to find a job with a great salary.

When I was in college, I studied herbalism, in preparation for becoming a professional herbalist. My school closed down before I could finish, and due to mitigating circumstances my credits were basically non-transferrable. But, I'm kind of seeing this as a blessing. I'm saving up my money, and doing what I've wanted to do since I was about six: I'm going to art school. I'm hoping to attend Gage Academy of Fine Art in Seattle. I probably won't make much in the way of money doing art for the rest of my life, but I am entirely unsuited to a standard nine-to-five, and considering my particular issues being around a lot of people on a regular basis is not a comfortable idea. I love art, so screw it, I'm bringin' it to the fore. When I was studying herbs, every day was stress, cramming, memorizing, formulating, and contemplating. I already do art every day, and enjoy it. I'm actually looking forward to art school.

There's so many factors why medical field is increasing. You got factors like the affordable healthcare act but then also the rise in obesity which leads to all sorts of health problems. All sorts, it's really amazing how being obese really fucks up your body, lifespan, and quality of life

Depends on your Major, I have a paramedic buddy who studies like there is no tommoro. And then there are the "Recreational Therapy" majors who party till 3 AM like every single day...
