Sword Art Online>>> good or bad??

I got about half way through it before I was distracted by something shiny. Personally, when I look at a fantasy or game-trap show like that, I want it to be a bit more versatile. I'm hardcore about traditional RPG parties, so it irks me a little that everyone is a tank, essentially. I want to find the original .hack, as my memory suggests it had elements I really liked (even though I don't actually remember the show... lol). Does anyone know the name of the original .hack? Was it just .hack?

Well he explains that in the SAO World has no magic. So classes were melee for most part. But s2 had magic and more defined classes.

I absolutely despise .hack, i thought it was terribly boring and emo. SAO was awesome tho, and it doesnt bother me that the 2 main characters were broke. They are the main characters for a reason

.hack//Sign was the first .hack. I also found .hack boring but SAO amazing. SAO has a really great story, but seemed rushed in the anime.

I like most .hack// franchise stuff up to .hack//GU. I haven't fully watched SIGN yet, just bits. The anime for Legend of the Twilight sucked but the manga was good. The video games were also pretty good though fields seemed a bit repetitive (still loved it). SAO has a different story set up but it is in line with .hack// stuff on some points. I did find SAO to be better in some ways, but I love .hack// more since it's one of the first few things I got into anime/manga with.

loved it myself...was frustrated when I got to the end and had no more to watch...supposedly there are more installments coming
