sigh.... I'm Catholic and i dont believe in gay marrage. I don't hate gays. does anyone else want to say otherwise about me?
I see some people are saying that its none of our business... but then why do you yell about equality all the damn time.
Were like," well we dont think that gay sex is good"
your like: Christians are such hippocrates! there so mean and judgemental! they hate gays!!!"
"uh actually i never said that-"
"gays cant help it! gays are gay and are born with gayness-!!"
"wait what? a gay gene? that makes no sense-"
"no! you just dont understand!!! rainbows!! unicorns!! i support gays! i dont care what people say to me I support gays!!!"
"..... we never said anything to you."
All i said was my opinion and people get all offensive about it. We as christians do not believe it's good to have butt sex. It's dirty and despite what people tell you it can give you deseases. We believe it's not good for humans to go against biology.
Now before you say: "oh its there sexual need! of course its boilogy!"
we also believe you shouldnt look at porn. and masturbate as Catholics we believe thats sinful.
So why would we even begin to think gay sex is natural when everything else we just stated was not right? also a penis is biologically fit for a vagina. your butt hole was not designed to have a penis stuck in it. no matter how much you like it. we think it is a sin.
JUST BECAUSE WE THINK IT IS A SIN DOES NOT MEAN WE HATE GAYS. Or think GOD HATES GAYS. that is horrible. Jesus christ dies on the freaking cross for sinners you think we think God doesnt love Gays? thats ridiculous. just because you sin doesnt mean God hates you. Any christian who told you that is wildly misinformed about his faith!
We just believe gay sex is not good and we have a right to believe that and vote against the majority of the public. We are all sinners though. none of us are perfect. God forgives the bad choices we make. He has mercy and understands our strengths and weaknesses. We choose to look at porn and masturbate and have gay sex. I could have sex with a girl right now and it probably feel good if i tried to. doesnt make it right. God has the only right to judge but just because we believe as christians that God doesnt want us to use our bodies like that doesnt make us horrible people. we are all people and all sinners. we try to do what is right.

It doesn't matter what you believe. It doesn't matter how much you claim to love people in the abstract. And it certainly doesn't matter what rationalizations you construct to justify your argument that they shouldn't do what they're doing.
Because the moment your belief that "my religion says this is wrong" becomes "I want the law to enforce my religion", you have crossed the moral event horizon and surrendered any right to expect others to respect your beliefs.
Your right to practice your religion of preference does not translate into a right to enshrine your religion in law and demand that others observe your strictures. And that is precisely what you're doing when you argue that gay people should not be allowed to marry the person they love.
Don't want to have sex with the same gender? Don't. Don't want to marry someone of the same gender? Don't. That's your choice to make. You don't get to make it for others.

I can't honestly say I have a favorable opinion of homosexual marriage. However, I'm more in line with saying that marriage is traditionally a religious institution moreso than anything else.
The government- be it city, state or federal levels, should have no say about it at all under any circumstances. There is no reason to tax differently because of it. There is no reason to provide benefits differently because of it. There is only one possible thing the government should be concerned with regard to marriage - census data gathering- because the census is how the government determines how much funding is needed in each district.
Marriage belongs in church. If you can find a church that will marry two guys or two girls then good for you. If you can't, keep searching.

I agree with Isaac Joule except I'm favorable to homosexual marriage. I think this is an area that government should have no say in

@Amezuki - Nailed it on the head.
@Maura_Breathless - I don't mean to be rude, but I find it incredibly ironic that a Catholic is claiming homosexuality is against basic biology. You do not believe in the evolutionary theory and therefore do not believe in the most basic concepts of elementary science. Therefore, bringing biology up for part of your argument when you don't even believe in Darwinism is incredibly hypocritical.
You have religious qualms against homosexuality, fine. But that's not your right to decide what other people decide to do with their lives. These people may believe in a different deity or even refute the idea of religion in general. Please do not even try to bring up scientific evidence as the basis for your argument when it's clear you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
I feel like if the Bible were to fully drive state and federal law that this country would be completely screwed. State and Religion has been separated since the founding of our country for good reason and to try to use your religion to influence law is morally ridiculous. People in the United States of America have the freedom to do what they want so long as it does not harm others. You are free to practice your own religion and beliefs but restricting the rights of others for your beliefs is ridiculous.

I... don't really care about gay marriage, to be honest. To me, being gay doesn't really make sense. I see sex and marriage as a means to reproduce, more than anything, so it's not something I would ever consider doing.
As for whether it's a sin or not, I don't really know. I'm a non-denominational Christian, but my parents were Baptists, so I probably should be against it, but since it doesn't directly affect me, I don't really care. What went out the window when Christ showed up and what was put in the Bible more because of the writer's opinion than the word of God can be kind of hard to tell, so I rely more on my conscience to determine what's right or wrong. If it doesn't feel like God would disapprove of, then I don't worry about it. Seeing as how I've never felt the need to sleep with a man, though, I haven't gotten any feedback on that one. Thus, I feel that whether it's a sin or not is more something between the individual and God, rather than something I should judge. I also believe that if someone were to sin in ignorance, God wouldn't condemn them for it. But then again, given that I call myself DemonGod, I might be a bad Christian and the wrong person to ask about all this.

Had to LOL. :)

I'm nonreligious, but I'm pretty sure that if there's any kind of greater power out there in the universe, they're not getting bent out of shape about Internet pseudonyms.

I'm very strongly opinionated on this subject. But I'll leave it simple. They're people in love. Sometimes when you're in love you want to make it official. Marriage is the way to do that. So therefore, let them marry. I was raised Catholic, even was an altar girl when I was younger. But social rights are a very serious thing, and if we can't get passed this, then we've got a problem.
I love gay people. I love straight people. I love transgender people. I love hermaphrodites. I love transexuals. As long as every one is of age and it is consensual, you do what you want as long as it breaks no laws.
People shouldn't be persecuted for something that doesn't involve our daily lives. They have to live with it, not us.
If you think otherwise, I respect that you have an opinion, but I won't be your friend or agree with you.
