More state's are legalizing, but it's going to be a LONG time before we'd ever see a constitutional amendment for it. Nothing wrong with it imo and I hope more states do legalize it.

Shelbyville was established in the Simpsons so that people can marry their cousins. Why? "Because they'll are so darn attractive."

Marry who you want.. Being gay is never someone's "choice," yet there are tons of ignorant people who blatantly say so. Being heterosexual isn't a choice.. so why keep continue to oppress homosexuals based on their sexuality? this topic has really bugged me since I was a kid.. Always hated those lame, "you're gay," or "that's so gay remarks." why don't I just say "that's so heterosexual" then? And if you stand against it you get labelled "gay." Welp better to stand against it then not IMO.

I say this often enough to be able to use the 'this is what I always say' line... Do what makes you happy.

I say government involved in marriage at all is unconstitutional. Marriage is between you and whatever you pray to if anything at all. You shouldn't force a church to do the marriage but you also can't stop a couple. If a church is willing to marry a gay couple then it is their right to do so. TL;DR Screw the government.

To be fair lagann, there are aspects to a marriage that the government has to be a part of, such as taxation and the legal rights of spouses. That means the government has to be involved. Also, say no church will take you. You can get a legal marriage performed through the government. In both instances, the government is helping both the establishment and stabilization of marriage. Unfortunately, our representatives (whom we elect...) tend to present their personal morals and religious views as the national norm, and for some reason we keep electing ignorant religious fanatics as the majority.

I don't think it's mostly a religious thing. The older generation in general don't have very positive opinions on homosexuality, christian or atheist.
