Personally I prefer watching japanese dubbed. Like if I start a new series I search for the japanese dubbed. But some animes I prefer the english dubbed such as School Rumble(Harima sounds like a really deep voiced middle aged samurai in the japanese one) and Lucky Star. But some animes the english dubbed sucks balls, like Soul Eater I HATED the voice for chrona and Ragnorok and Chibi Vampire/Karin pissed me off just by hearing one word

There are very few acceptable English dubs in existence, so I go with Japanese subtitled from BakaBt Or Nyaa, which I am more or less forced to do because I absolutely refuse to endure poor quality streaming when I have another alternative. I try to use [Commie] or [UTW], then fall back to [gg] and the other random subgroups out there for the best quality translations. I physically flinch at most dubs and people who actually watch them, usually on some shitty 240P streaming site with the video watermarked, it makes me pessimistic about the future of the human race that people are still doing this in 2013.

For me it depends on which I watched first, Japanese or English dub. Like for Black Butler, I had seen the Japanese dub first, and I absolutely loved it. The English dub had a lot less emotion and the character's voices were too soft. It was too refined, if you could say that. It felt like they were holding back. On the other hand, I prefer the English dub of Hetalia. It's got a lot more jokes and the accents sound really good. I do like the original Japanese Voice Actors a lot, they did a really good job on the character songs. Noriaki Sugiyama did an especially good job on England, he's my favorite VA. I do worry though. Funimation has licensed Attack on Titan for an English dub this fall, and I just don't want them to trash it. The Japanese voice actors did excellent on it, you can just hear the raw emotion dripping from every word. Especially the whole "TATAKAE" deal, that was epic.

Subbed FTW. The end. Dubbed, for people who really could care less about learning a little Japanese and improving their reading skills.

Japanese dub for me. With the exception of a few series it just sounds weird to hear them speak english.

Definitely Japanese dub, they take the acting, setting, mood, and the pronounciations seriously. English dubs mostly change the funny or inappropriate scripts and make it unfunny plus the acting is cheesy with wrong pronounciations. If someone says that the original sucks and english dub is way better then I get mad and don't call them otaku.
