Old School Anime

Akira, Tenchi Muyo, The Guyver, Fist of the North Star, Vampire Hunter D, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Armitage III... To name a few. Honestly there were a few I couldn't get into, though. NGE was ruined for me by a loudmouth roommate that watched it obsessively every day, though I will say I was and still am a Rei fan (I actually like the Raising Project manga). I've only ever seen Slayers dubbed, and the dubbing is... I can't stand it. lol.

Well most early Dubb anime is bad because they were just trying to match the flaps with the actual words. It can't be done, now they have a little dramatic license to change it up and make it fit without being hokey.

A lot of what I love about the old school stuff was just that... FEEL it had. Like how gritty Fist of the North Star, the original Gundam, and Votoms seemed (albeit mostly due to the animation), compared to the newer stuff that seems really crisp and bright... not that it's a bad thing though. The early bad dubbing though is something else entirely though. It can be so bad and cheesy that I can't stop laughing, or horrendous to the point that I just can't watch. The same can be said about the times engrish is used as well.
