Hmmm... I'm not sure if there is such a thing as too much in common. I can imagine that might make things more easier in the relationship. In a relationship you want to... um... relate to someone right? However it can be weird how opposite attractions work in a relationship. I guess maybe what it comes down to is with the things you have in common and uncommon you find a middle ground that works and fulfills your relationship. Just my thoughts.

i definitely agree you can have too much in common, being at odds with someone can actually bring you closer

i can get bored of a guy who has too much in common with me, especially if he prattles on about how similar we are. similar interests wont mean we will get along

^^ definitely agree with that. Similar interests really aren't indicative to getting along with someone

I'd rather be with someone who was a mirror image of me than someone who was like oil and water.
That being said, there can be personality conflicts if you're both dominant people. I generally steer away from women whose ideals dont fit mine.

I like when the person I'm with seems a lot like me or very similar. Kinda hard to be exactly like me, but the differences help so it doesn't get boring. Also helps to not fight too much over things or have stuff to myself and they have they're own stuff that I don't bother with. I wouldn't want to be with someone extremely different because I'd have a harder time relating or talking with them about stuff. Just semi-similar or close-similar is good, and beyond that I'd have to weigh things.
