Well ofc the political message behind it means more than the scarring of children. No one ACTUALLY cares about kids. Thats why critical race theory is taught in schools. Its basically erasing history, REAL history. Then making innocent children hate themselevs for something they had no part of. No one ever cared about kids

I am not up to speed on the critical race theory stuff. I'll have to dive into that cesspool to educate myself a bit. In my little corner of the world it has not been a topic because they schools aren't teaching it.

Yep critical race theory is being taught in schools and in schools like in virginia they now allow you to enter the bathroom you identify as. So a boy can go in girl bathrooms and such. Its crazy.

Long story short, critical race theory teaches that blacks are idiots that can't figure anything out like time, math or work because white people created them. Since white people created these things it is evil and must be destroyed.

Here I am like 10 videos and several articles later...
Man, this whole issue is a mess. This took literally forever to unravel. There are like three formal iterations of this ideology, and endless interpretations by the public.
It comes across as a problem I refer to as "over eager activists". They want to leave their mark on the world so bad that they'll push dogma. Worse, they actually believe they're doing something something positive. They got together with some conspiracy theorists and an ancient text. Modern day CRT was thus born.
The civil discourse etiquette of the few supporters who were willing to speak about it was... unsatisfactory. They aggressively shut down and steered the conversation away from inconvenient points. Honestly I felt like I was watching someone get bullied. I even got offended by some of their reasoning. I don't even remember the last time I was actually offended by something.
I don't get it. Why can't people just be people. My head hurts.

@umi_nezumi see here is my thing, all this aggressive pushing hurts movements more than it helps. When people get tired of that woke ideology and stop wanting to tune into that stuff they will just outright reject it. People think that they will force their way into people's lives. But its sorta like ultra strict parents the more you push the worse the reception from the kid.

I still think the Gothix CRT debate is worth a watch even though it went on for like 2 hours and they kinda spun their wheels in the end.
The scholarly pro-CRT side could not come up with a viable definition of CRT that satisfied the anti-CRT side and audience. They did have a few agreements in the discussions but the pro-CRT side was talking about theoretical CRT vs anti-CRT talking about applied and experienced CRT. Pro-CRT side would dismiss anything hot in the news like the New York City schools sending home pamplets to grade how racist they are or the Coke trainings to "be less white" as being nothing but pessimistic outliers.
That's pretty much why a lot of people tuned in for it, they wanted to see how anyone could defend those things. They didn't, just brushed them off. I think that's inherently the problem. Anyone who is taught CRT in a school setting is going to see it from a philosophical and theoretical point of view and ignore how it's being interpreted and applied.

@hell_hound7 Absolutely. In fact it seems that is already happening.
@verucassault Thanks. I'll give it a watch. I notice the pro-CRT often highlight a difference between how it's being applied vs what it is. They still end up saying things that concern me, and which don't conflict with how it's being applied. It's a neat, thought-provoking concept from the standpoint of academia, but that's where I judge it should stop.
