Yeah the flagellation thing i didnt understand. Like where did the self mutilation come from? Things like people going into private and whipping themselves because they sinned. Who told them this was the way to go? Seems like more of a self gratification than anything else. These bodies dont belong to us. God owns everything, and like the bibles says
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
These practices were adopted by Christians as a form of penance. However nowhere in the bible does it say to do this.

"I am that I am." God's words, not mine. In occult belief, God is the world. Not the owner of it. It's not just our bodies we should respect. But our world and our souls. To do harm to another is to do harm to god. This gets more apparent from the occult angle as you raise consciousness to gods level. To become one with creation itself, indistinguishable from it. All the hurt I caused others? I felt it. God felt it. It's really hard to conceptualize it, but this is why using human words to explain a transcendental entity falls flat in many cases.
But yeah, if you compare the occult pov with the scripture, they more ore less are saying the same thing.
Self harm is wrong, harming others is wrong, and you should always respect the natural boundaries of the physical and spiritual world. You don't tamper or pollute them with your shit. You work in alignment with it. Honoring what you have as a manifestation of divinity itself.

I mean, even biblically speaking, we were made to be caretakers of creation and that includes ourselves. I can agree with that, even if I'm a hypocrite.

I dont really wish to delve into things like the occult. I believe some things exist in the world, however, God has destroyed such knowledge for a reason. The bible does mention magic existed in the world at one point. The ability to shapeshift objects and things the likes of which wont be seen until the antichrist makes his appearance. The bibles says it will be as the days of Noah. Certain things arent meant for humans to meddle with. But men will never be in the same league as God. You cannot even look upon God without dying. He is the almighty, he makes knowledge and the like so idrk about all the consciousness stuff. Just have to kinda throw it out there because i feel like i do you an injustice to allow you to speak that way because it could do you harm in the end.

Yup. I'm always the first to warn people about that kinda stuff. Even Angel Work has destroyed a lot of minds out there because people fail to acclimate themselves to the higher energy. And they are the go between for us mortals. And as you say, there's limits. I think its less god and more man who tries to destroy knowledge. As always, It's about control. Do you know how many people fuck up their lives with ouijaboards? Do you realize how often those same people reach out for help only to have fear and superstition shoved in their faces? If your life is thrown into chaos by an unseen force, the last thing you want to hear is "You shouldn't have been messing with that shit, you got what you deserved."
Here's the thing though. Just dump the board in salt water to cleanse it. (If only they made them water proof.) Be careful and discerning. Ask security questions. If you unleashed something into your home, smack it with iron. Now why isn't that knowledge more available? Because the church as an institution wants people to go through them. As always, its about control.
Fear and superstition are not compatible with the Aquarian age. Knowledge is. But it's difficult to throw the safety guidelines out there when you are constantly getting attacked by the religious and the atheistic interests out there. Anyway, I do appreciate you sharing your thoughts in a civil manner. Even if you don't agree, just wanted to get some shit off my chest.

I love seeing people use theories and all these principles that the so called smart people try to use to prove God doesnt exist. Then flipping the theory on its head and being what you just said is virtually impossible by your own standards.

While the bible says not to be a hypocrite that doesnt exactly exempt us from saying anything. Its just when you are sinning in a particular area you are bound to make that sin seem lesser than the other since you are doing it. That person doesnt take it seriously if they think that.

It just reads as him saying "how can you condemn people for having ____ when you dont do ____? Shame on you" basically siding with the point its ok to leave one group alone instead of preaching to both sides to do better. What i said was a better example than saying shame on you. Especially since it comes from the bible. Which says you cant help others properly when you suffer from greater sins. He could have explained why, or at least say why he thought that way. Especially since it says he is a reverand. This is why the church is in such a disarray.
