I knew several girls on campus that got into YuGiOh cardplay. My ex attempted to teach me but I'm not too good with all the rules and such so I wasn't very interested.

College campuses have a range of people so it's more likely (plus we have a local cardshop that holds YuGiOh tournaments and ones for other card games). The YuGiOh player count has risen a lot since when I was a freshman and met my ex. He and his friends kinda recruited other people on campus and in the dorms and played in the halls or wherever they could. Crimson Castle also holds a room for gaming at Kami-con, dunno if they'll do that this year since the con got moved to Birmingham.
