Political rants

The I’m stuck mentality. The thought that it can’t be helped. It’s the biggest thing stopping people from rising above their situation. But you don’t know what you don’t know. It can be easier to move and start over somewhere else than you might think. But if you haven’t been taught how, you would never know it. Personally speaking, it’s doing things I’ve never done and don’t know about. That’s the single biggest driver of my anxiety. Sometimes to the point of it being crippling. So I understand the feeling of moving to escape your situation feeling overwhelming or impossible. I can’t tell you how many times I was struggling with anxiety over something I needed to do and wished someone would help me get past this one thing. But other people aren’t going to do it for you. If you’re willing to reach and climb up yourself, people will more often give you a hand. But they can’t and won’t carry you… Don’t let appearance fool you, they’re all struggling themselves.

@a_wesley_g So going back a bit, now that I actually have time to make a post. So I need to ask about this point. "Asking for an ID isn’t a race issue. Appalachian isn’t a race." The fuck do you mean by this? Like really, where in my post did I even say that it was? We're everyone who ended up here. That's a cultural identity, not a racial identity. It just so happened that a lot of us with white skin ended up in Appalachia because of Racial Pedigree Laws. For context, I identify as Human. I don't give a damn about the color of my skin. But I'm here because someone thought my ancestors of the West Virginian side of my family were "Clay Eaters, Offscourings, and Lowdowners who were polluting future generations to permanent defectiveness and needed to be separated from affluent white folk to keep from breeding." Paraphrasing of course. That's the part that relates to systemic racism. The rest of your argument basically boils down to egocentric assertions. Buddy, the DMV? Not everyone out in these parts can afford a car. If you aren't one of us, don't go speaking for us. (And if anyone is curious about the history of the word "White Trash", here's a nice little anthropological lecture. Trust me, it goes places even conventional civil rights activists are apprehensive to touch.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVgATitO8c0

Was having a bad day and my reply came off too harsh. I’ll try to reply later a bit nicer

@chocopyro. “Oh yes, Systemic racism? Bitch, I'm Appalachian.” Foul mouth aside, you implied it’s location based systemic racism against Appalachian people. So yes you’re saying Appalachian are a race. Or do you mean every race living in the Appalachian mountains? I’m not sure how something can be racist against every race at the same time? RACISM = Race related. I pointed out that Appalachian isn’t a race to differentiate between racism and prejudice, which was one of the main points of my post. Even if you don’t have a car, to purchase cigarettes, alcohol, guns, ammunition, get a public library card, or board a plane, you have to have an ID. To get a NON-driver ID you still have to go to the DMV. And most voter registration is done at that time. You need to have an ID for the most mundane of things. So why is it racist to need an ID for something as important as voting, yet it's fine to require them for everything else? If EVERYONE is required to have an ID, it's not a race issue. Also, it was written into the proposed law that ID's would be provided free of charge, so you can't argue that poor people can't afford a free ID. Nor does the DMV charge you to register to vote. Again it's already a law that you have to register in order to vote. Why wouldn't you get a free ID at the same time? Systemic racism is the embedded discrimination within laws, policies, and institutions that disproportionately disadvantages certain racial groups while privileging others. If the law somehow prohibited another race from getting an ID, or made it harder for them to get an ID, then that would be systemic racism. So explain to me how it's systemic racism to require an ID for anything and everything you need an ID for, when EVERYONE is required to have them?

Furthermore, what does historical prejudice have to with getting a valid ID today? Yes, bigotry and racism existed everywhere in that time period, not just the Appalachian mountains. But I’d like to think we have grown as a nation since then. Or are you suggesting that you’re a still victim of that racism, and that you’re currently be forced to live there because of pedigree? And more importantly to the discussion, is that still keeping you from getting an ID? Seriously, take it from someone who has been a lot of places. If you feel that repressed where you live, you can and should move. Nobody can legally force you to live there. You are free to move to any state in our country. And so were your ancestors. Though they may have been pushed out of their original community, I’m pretty sure they weren’t forced into concentration camps? Correct me if I’m wrong. I’m not a historian. Also, the Appalachian mountains cover the entire east coast of the US. Arguably the same people you’re blaming for the historic racism are also from the Appalachian mountain area, and would also be Appalachian. I was actually born in North Carolina. I’ve lived there, Texas, Missouri, Colorado, Wyoming, and Virginia. The DMV has sucked every where. But the only time I had an issue with getting my license renewed, was because I lost my birth certificate, and had to order a new one during the covid shutdown. Took forever. Yes, it was tedious, but again I had to because I’m a responsible adult. If you feel my arguments about it not being racist to require an ID are egocentric, then sorry, please give me a valid reason from your perspective to the contrary. So far you’re only giving me a bunch of random facts that have nothing to do with the actual topic. Everything you said is about past historical prejudice, and zero about why current day ID's are racist. If you’re arguing that IDs are prejudice against the poor. That again could be made a valid argument, if that’s how you want to argue it. But that’s prejudice, not racism. The topic was current day IDs, not history.

The problem with the left and why the right is so scared of them and cold to others. The right operates on dark coherence they watch the shadows of your imperfections. The left is filled with outcasts and the diverse. The left showed that they want the outcast and diverse to be hailed as special and be put into a protected status and allow them to over take and destabilize the country principles views knowing that most of them are mentally unwell or confused and we suppose to allow this confusion to propagate and enter a protected status knowing they will get even wilder and be embolden to assert dominance over the country and not need to face accountability because they in a protected status and it doesn't matter if they don't have a coherent mind. The right wants to alleviate America of outcast and diverse so they don't propergate. It's called conservative. They want to conserve there views and principles. America first. That mostly means the whites. They see everyone else as viruses trying to take over there great country. They have no problem seeing you as a virus. But, they will never see themselves as a virus they to perfect for that. For the ones who can never perceive themselves as the virus less they crumble. Really the left didn't even give them room to perceive themselves as the virus. They just tried to take over and destabilize coherence to reality. You know these white people get spooked easily they don't know em. The left just showed how much as a virus they can be further digging white people into there cold beliefs that if they give others a chance they country will be destroyed. If they to lenient there country will be destroyed. If they show care there country will be destroyed. And, the left isn't trying not to spook em so I know it's a game by the elites the left is designed to spook you so you dig your heals in cold heartedness. The left is not a real thought out party it's a game otherwise they wouldn't spook yah. And, those on the left just go along with the incoherent nature of there party. Idc how much they use black slogans I'm black fr you don't fight like you ready to die that's not my party. You don't know what it took to unspook these white people. And, the left want to give me a free pass to act a fool and not face accountability because I'm in a protected status. What that sound like. So many people emboldened by the left to be fools. Like it's a game. There is alot of mental illness on the left. They took that specialness the left gave them and instead of walking humble they let it go to there head. But, it's the same for the right they are embolden because they receive a protected status now and they embolden to be fools and let there specialness go to there head. They don't walk humble either. But, they right the left will destabilize America so I guess I just have to be a virus in there eyes. Since the left playing games to hide a takeover. Like the white people can't see it. The white people care not how they effected the world they still better than you. Just look at there country they so proud of with stars gleaming in there eyes. They love this country and won't let it crumble not matter how cold they have to be. They say look at your country you didn't do what we did. We know you can never be anything like us so stay away from us. Isolationist. Edit: Guilt will be the death of them so they remain unsympathetic cause that's how they remain on top. I don't want your head or your place I think your pretty cool all these years you been scared of someone taking your place at the top that's why you do what you do I understand have you ever thought some of us don't want it and only want to help you build and not destroy what you built. I forgive you for all the things you did to stay on top. I know your scared. You may even be scared the world will crumble without you up there. I know how deep that fear runs and what you do because of it. I don't want your spot. I was just wondering if you can use a hand. If you throw me away after we built together I understand your scared. Edit: I know somewhere deep down it hurts. You just don't show it. But, I understand it now and I forgive you. I see you for more than that fear that consumes you. I see you for more than what you did or will do. You may hide it deny it but you will always be my brother and I care for your well being. Whether you wrong me or not. I know how scared you are. I forgive what you did and will do I'm worried about you. I wish I could lift you up out of that fear but my hands are small. And, I'm only one man who sees you.

not all ID's are the same; you have driver's licenses, birth certificates (and restrictions around those are being contemplated), passport, school ID, or even a library card. and then you have two factor identification where they might require a photo ID plus something like a birth certificate and photo ID. to TLDR, some forms are easier to come across than others. i believe some areas in the us would simply ask for your name, and they could find you on their registry and mark that you have voted. my state requires a photo ID, and last election they also required my social security card ontop of my photo id. to say "you must have an ID to vote," is understandable (though not how its been conducted in the recent past) BUT i would then say the state has an obligation to provide said ID. the DMV CHARGES for a state ID (and probz driver's liscense, or atleast the criteria is probs monetized? dinno) and even if that is, say, 8 dollars, it is still a faction statement to say "our elections are barred monetarily." which is a horrible statement. so if a certain type (or types) or ID is mandatory, then mail them out automatically, or streamline it so there are virually no hoops to jump through.
