@momoichi Believe it or not, I'm better at einhanding it. I dual wield when fighting multiple opponents, but in dueling, if you try that and your opponent sees it coming, there's a lot of things they could do to mess you up. Dual wielding can be an easy way to loose a hand if you aren't proficient.

@chocopyro you're fighting smarter not harder. Doesn't matter how strong someone is. Metal blade will tear them up. You got to be quick, subtle, enduring. I don't like the "alpha male" ideal, it's a myth, no guy can live up to that. It hurts men's mental health. You mentioning your sword style reminded me of the Spanish "circle" it was a fencing style taught in the Spanish empire that was very fluid. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destreza

@chocopyro but for a single hander, you should have a shield on your wrist. and your opponent had bulky headwear, so i think duel wielding would work well in overwhelming him with blows that he cant properly parry thanks to the limited vision. plus his blade is short, so parrying it should be easier than a heavy long sword or bastard sword

@momoichi The sword I was using was a bastard sword. Also, my actual fighting style is more like this. You're free to analyze it as much as you want, I take criticism. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcD5VfEIUIc @kuharido I agree. Not only that, but human social dynamics do not equate to chimps, so the alpha male shit is BS anyways. We're actually somewhat between Chimps and Bonobos. Our social instincts are as fluid as they come. Never heard of that style, but it really does sound like my personal self taught blend of HEMA, Kenpo, and ampgar/daghir techniques. (The latter do not translate to real sword fights that well, its more competitive foam sword fighting so stuff like edge alignment aren't as stressed.)

@chocopyro i actually thought it was at first xD i read that theyr half a long sword, but i googled it to make sure and i thought it was too big. and im no one to criticize someones fighting styles, the closest to combat iv ever been was playing ninja's at recess xD your really good! have you ever fought someone with other weapons beside one handers? have you used a two hander before? ever fought someone with a warhammer? i only just recently found out those were actual fucking weapons and not just some rpg stuff to get back on topic though, i agree wholeheartedly that gender traits are simply a trend and not a rule, but i think the bigger argument to be had is whether gender and sex are one in the same. i want to say this is what is confusing those people, because i cant see how to simplify it anymore xD i thought the wallee example was pretty simply. a robot cant have a sex, yet we assign it a gender regardless. seems so cut and dry.

Yes. And I have a correction. The sword at my hip is a bastard sword. The Sword I was using in the pic was an arming sword. Bastard swords have hilts that are about a hand and a half, but historically longswords and bastard swords are basically the same thing. Some had longer hilts, others didn't. I also use axes, 1-2 handed bastard weapons, pole arms, short swords and daggers. And at larp, the NPCs are equipped with a large variety of weapons, so you kind of have to get used to fighting everything. If it exists in Daghir, it exists in my larp.

@chocopyro which was hardest and easiest to handle and with what weapon did you combat them with? have you ever used a spear? or fought against one? those are my personal favorite (from my time twirling around broken broom handles)

Spears are incredibly useful battlefield weapons, and I personally love them. I probably have the least experience using them, but they are so intuitive that if you have the basics down with sword play, you can more or less figure out how to use a spear effectively enough just by knowing what doesn't work with a sword. No matter how hollywood sells swords, its spears that get the most kills on the battle field. The reason I use swords in larp is because I RP an adventurer, not a soldier. So I equip myself with versatility in mind. But yeah, back on topic. I can seriously go on about that stuff for days. I think it just goes over people's heads, or they reject it on the basis of they think it's stupid and they don't want to acknowledge it that we define things in a certain way.
