From last night. I worked retail during first stim check. I know for a fact a lot of poor people did not save that money or put it toward rent. Lots of returns later due to not being able to pay bills or people that seemed desperate to do a return.

I say abandon both parties for their fuckery. Defending either party just looks weak. The right are incompetent and the dems are leeches. 15 years ago it was the other way around, therefore both options are horrible.

https://youtu.be/9oA78WgIoO0 In this non-partisan analysis of today’s political divisiveness, Lessig identifies unrepresentativeness as the one problem that underlies the others. He sees it both in institutions—such as the media’s response to narrow interests rather than to those of the wider citizenry—and in the people, who are uninformed about the issues. Lessig, host of the podcast Another Way, co-founder of Creative Commons, and Roy L. Furman Professor of Law and Leadership at Harvard Law School, proposes a number of solutions to fix both the “them” and the “us,” ranging from Electoral College reforms to new forums that offer citizens the chance to speak in an informed and deliberative way.

I will say something that would be an Unpopular opinion in my circle: The Brazilian Monarchist movement is filled with idiots. They can barely do a proper assembly and barely let the prince to talk. Although I prefer a monarchy instead of a republic, Brazil isn't fit to have it, due to our glaring problems with state-range oligarchies and the generalized corruption and lack of competence in our democratic institutions*. So what good would restoring the monarchy do now? *: No, the problem isn't democracy, just corruption and incompetence in the institutions. Which would be solved somewhat by purging right-wing physiologism, populism and our marxist left.

Nuclear energy should be the preferred source of power: 1) The funny green rocks are cool and we should play with them more. That is all. o7
