Political rants

https://nypost.com/2021/09/07/us-troops-rage-at-their-leaders-will-grow-unless-theres-deep-reform/ "According to Rasmussen, more than half of Americans rate President Biden’s handling of Afghanistan as “poor.” His approval numbers have plummeted, and a majority of voters don’t trust administration reports on Afghanistan. ... the officers who actually do things are furious. A series of encrypted messages leaked to the media shows officers on the ground in Kabul blasting their orders, complaining that they were being forced to leave Americans behind. “We are f–king abandoning American citizens,” wrote a colonel with the 82d Airborne detachment there. Regular troops were reportedly apoplectic that they weren’t allowed to go rescue US citizens, as British and French forces did. As this debacle unfolds, the field- and company-grade officers — captains through colonels — are complaining about a double standard in military management: If they screw up even a little, their careers are over. But when the generals screw up, there are no consequences, even when lives or billions of dollars are wasted; then they retire to fat contractor paychecks. Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller resigned his commission after Kabul to demand accountability from his superiors. He couldn’t stay, he said, because he had lost trust and confidence in them. His words have been echoed, publicly and in private, by many others of similar rank. (I received an email from a serving general making the same points.) This is against the background of endless loose talk by our high political leaders about “coups,” “insurrections” and “sedition.” The laughable Capitol “riot” certainly didn’t rise to that level, but in a show of insecurity, the Capitol was ringed by 25,000 troops, several times as many as were sent to rescue Americans from Kabul. Banana republic stuff. Generally speaking, a nation where the civilian leadership fears its citizens and has lost the nation’s confidence, and where the senior military leadership has lost the confidence of those down the chain of command, is a nation in trouble. THIS, this is my biggest fucking gripe about the military. It is the rank structure. Pull these dudes out of politics. There is no reason a general should be bumping elbows with politicians. If you wanna be a politician then hit the freaking button and get out. Like i dont get it. I saw this first hand i sat down with a 2 star who i wont name to put him on blast. And after 5 seocnds of talking i tuned him out. He basically told me every complaint i had was meaningless and what i do has no significance. Yeah, no significance when im in one of the highest tempo bases in my entire branch. Under a command specifically geared toward a specific goal. Working basically 5 man jobs with only 2 people. So stressed out i have a panic attack at work. like this is why i lose respect for these people. Above a certain rank these guys see nothing but money money money, promotion, do what i can to rank up. They talk about how we are family and they love us but i never see them, when we are drowning in work they pile more on us. They go home while we work 12-16 hour shifts. Just knowing i will never make it to a rank that has any sort of weight to it unless i kiss up to someone who isnt in the military makes it all that much worse.

The problem i feel doesnt start within the military, i feel the problem is outside the military. Because even as enlisted all the good paying government jobs i need to be an O-6 and above. Tell me why the officers after getting paid to do basically the same stuff i do somehow become more qualified to do it when im literally doing the same job. Sometimes the job they do in the military has nothing to do with their degree. I dont know what sets officers and enlisted apart. But we have too many bad leaders, when they trust a 2 year, 21 year old enlisted to push thousands of people through a program i had no training on and somehow made it work. Why am i not qualified? Why do i have to do these tests and get approval from congress to commission? The government has too much power in the military and most of that power is given to those who were prior military.

Oh and lets not forget the politicians who have kids who commission. Oh lord, they move heaven and earth for those dudes. I want a president who will unseat every corrupt person in our government once and for all. Or pass some kind of law or something. I will support them 100% i want an unbiased, uncorrupt America. People first, because lets be honest we are the ones allowing things to function. Without us there is no USA. We are the blue collar workers, the farmers, the retail, the bag boys, the waste management.

@laffantion That's every country's politics in a nutshell. I want the one country that has achieved World Peace to please post on this thread. My guess is that they won't because they like keeping secrets and watching the rest of us bicker at each other for their amusement!

Conservatives are really shooting themselves in the foot by opposing abortion. Who is unlikely to get an abortion? Conservatives... who is likely to have an abortion? Liberals, Progressives, or Leftists of any stripe... If you want to win, do you want these types to breed?

Bold of you to assume liberals are having sex and not group sessions where they vent about oppression and misgendering each other

So apparently a coworker of mine bbn knows a dude who basically cant kick out his gf after i guess she cjeated on him? Basically that bill they passed for eviction also means you cant kick people out even if you arent a landlord and they dont have their name on the lease. So the dude has to live somewhere else.
