Political rants

She never said she would shoot. She was saying (in less words) that under martial law they are assuming the place of civil law. They can make a lawful order for them to go inside their house. If they do not comply they will be treated as part of the issue. Usually in these scenarios that means detainment. They have been known to shoot warning rounds into building panels. They are not supposed to fire unless necessary, but training for domestic deployments is well... bad, and some of them think they can just shoot.

Nah alot of people in the military have not actually seen "action" if your mission has nothing to do with defending an asset, escorting an assest, or securing an asset. You wont be engaged in any fire fights. If your job is a mechanic for some Humvees, when will you realistically pick up a gun and shoot someone? So i can see people getting maube trigger happy or aggressive in a situation. We are trained for restraint but not many have been put in such a situation. Her saying that she will point a gun at someone who poses no threat to her proves she hasnt actually been put in that situation.

Damn my commanding officer just told us today that the dudes above her just said we have 3 options for covid vaccine, get it, get a religious exemption, or get out. She then proceeded to tell us they would work with us on the 3rd option regarding finding work on the outside. Thats freaking crazy.

They're giving people the option to get out, AND offering assistance? Damn indeed.
hell_hound7
Well my commanders are, thats not the case everywhere im sure. Also by assistance its probably like here is where you find jobs good luck. They arent offering you a job outside.

But this is good news for people who WANT to leave. Which are alot of people surprisingly. One dude claims every day he puts on his uniform it feels like hell. So he would most definitely benefit from this. I just found that a weird ultimatum because usually we are begging for people to join.

Yeah that's why I was surprised to hear they're letting people get out. I hear those that end up in the military can encounter issues with employment afterwards. Especially if they didn't pick any particular skill set, but also just adjusting to the change. My brother in law ended up working for TSA because it felt more comfortable. Sucks if they're only offering token assistance though.
hell_hound7
Well its not hard to find a job afterwards. Also transitioning is only hard of you have no real experience prior. Most people join out of highschool. And yeah i was gonna do TSA when i got out but i kind of want a job that makes no less than i am now. Im still trying to figure that out tbh. I sort of want a government position but i dont have the drive to be a politician. I would definitely be crucified by the left if i did that.
