Political rants

"Anti-racism" is pure euphemism for defending intersectional theory in an ideological fashion.

@hell_hound7 so? if you intentionally profit from a corrupt system, your still copeable, even if you didn't invent it. Frederick Dougless had a shit ton of children with his slaves and never freed a single one when he died despite having the ability to. I'm not too good with history, but with my limited knowledge i agree that slavery, at the time, was a necessary evil. opinion subject to change upon further details, (I'm going off of what i learned from the American education system so) but on the surface i believe it helped our economy flourish. that being said. so what. if we turned our prisons into labor camps we would see benefits from that too, but that wouldn't make it ethical. it also still doesnt make it ethical that Africans were the slave traders. plus that wasn't even always the case, but that's getting off the point the thing is that we can commend these peoples accomplishments while also condemning their choices. my main point was that these were people of their time, and we shouldn't value the opinions of people that cant relate to our current society. if you like that they valued freedom, that's great, they were hypocrites though that spoke of freedom when they themselves didn't apply their own beliefs into their actual lives.

True racism will never be purged, change my mind. The only time racism amongst humans will ever end is if we find another race to discriminate against.

washington would even free his slaves and then reenslave them as a loophole these ain't people you should idolize
hell_hound7
Again i dont idolize any of them. I just feel what is written on paper in its basic form. Freedom of speech, religion, right to bare arms, things of that nature should be upheld. I dont agree with slavery but again we cant change history idk why people act like we can. What we do in today's world will never undo what happened.

no one acts like we can change history lol. people just stopped white washing it to make these flawed people seem like heroes. why do you value what they wrote on paper when they themselves never practiced what they preached? it sounds like you value the idea of freedom and such, not that they valued it.
nebelstern
They actually believed that... to the citizens, that is. For them, and for most people, slaves weren't citizens. Sometimes, they didn't consider them humans. That was a problem of their times, despite there already existing institutions that actively opposed slave trade, such as the Catholic Church.

Anyone that's ever tried to change anything actually important is a hypocrite. You live conforming while speaking out against it. The pressures for conforming can vary: your livelihood could be at stake, the law may enforce it, etc.
hell_hound7
@momoichi separate the art from the artist. You dudes be out here praising joe biden despite him being racist af. I only bring it up because he criticized trump for doing the same thing.
hell_hound7
@umi_nezumi a long as cancel culture exists, freedom of speech is limited.
