UGH I TYPED SO MUCH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK summarizing what i said cause I fucking lost it i read an article to refresh my memory and the wording is insanely complicated for my dumb brain https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0305750X12001453#:~:text=The%20scale%20effect%20of%20legalized,are%20favored%20over%20trafficked%20ones. but am i correct as interpreting it as "while human trafficking increases when prostitution is legalized it is purely a correlative effect and legal prostitutes are chosen the majority of the time."? which means that it actually helps victims of human trafficking? because if so fuck yeah legalize that shit. tax the fuck out of it and throw in some government regulation while your at it with the cp thing there was a huge hashtag on twitter that centered around sharing those kind of links but it was found out and immediately purged. its not like twitter was turning a blind eye, they just didn't know and when users started reporting it they did a huge sweep

@momoichi yes there are a 2 things when it comes to prostitution. Something called the nordic model which is basically not illegal for sexworkers to sell service but makes it illegal to buy. From what i am told it hurts both sides. The customer is basically penalized under the guise that "this is to doscourage sex trafficking" but all it does is make it harder on the workers as the customers are generally rougher, violent and often times run off without paying. Then you have full decriminalization where its like the Netherlands. They dont really see as much trafficking there since agencies and brothels exist. The only problem is these people recieve no government aid and then they are also looked down on because of the social norms. There is a whole businesses model to this. Ah well i mean i wasnt aware they banned the hashtag. But that doesnt solve the issue. I guess there is really no way to stop this via internet tbh.

@momoichi Most prominent example was Carpe Donktum under the blanket category of "copyright infringement" when the video in question was under fair use with it falling well within the transformative and parody category. Whether you find it funny or not, the this post was within Twitter's TOS. This is one example of many. As far as I'm concerned the only social media site that is skating on thin ice is Twitter in getting their Section 230 revoked. Twitter despite being on thin ice doesn't stop, instead they hop up and down on it having a conniption fit. As far as the CP goes. That hashtag was being reported for months when that happened. It's not like employees at any level were unaware of the large amount of complaints that it got. There was also the issue of a teenage boy who had a video of himself being sexually exploited on Twitter and Twitter refused to take it down, leading to lawsuit. Any time that Twitter takes these things down the Department of Homeland Security has to get involved.

@dyadka_yar what was the video of? i did a quick google search and apparently it was copyright struck by someone else, I'm assuming the original owner, and apparently he had multiple of these copy right strikes? being charitable toward twitter i could assume that they didn't want the liability of someone getting so many copy right strikes? also i don't believe that twitter turned a blind eye to cp. why would they do that? why wouldn't they protect the reputation of there platform lol? i just do not believe that because twitter has 0 motive to ignore it and every motive to ban it out of self-preservation (also the instance i was thinking of was the hashtag that had cp links associated, not of some teenager, idk about that case but my above argument would apply to it as well) @hell_hound7 I'm surprised to hear a trad such as yourself defending legalizing prostitution, rather based of you pan and you even taught me something progressive. and i agree the greater issue is that scumbags are gonna scumbag on all social media sites, every one is plagued with it with varying degrees

@dyadka_yar one article later and i somewhat agree with twitters choice to ban him The doctored video of a pair of 2-year-olds in New York was faked to appear as if it had aired on CNN, with fake chyrons reading “Terrified Todler [sic] Runs From Racist Baby” and “Racist Baby Probably a Trump Voter.” The father of one of the boys, whose viral video was featured in a CNN story last year, filed a DMCA takedown notice over the Carpe Donktum meme. he was spreading misinformation that was tweeted by the fucking president. and cnn themselves are the ones that copyright struck him. i agree that this was not a copyright violation, and it should have been some kind of slander case and being well versed in youtube drama i know that they used copyright strike because its a faster and harsher method, so legally they are in the wrong, i agree, but morally i think it was justified. fuck people that spread misinformation twitter was wrong to ban him on the grounds of copyright, i haven't seen the video but i imagine cnn's likenes was used in a transformative way, but for misinformation i think 100% would stand. on its own i don't think its too big of a deal, but when the president of the united states retweets it? it becomes a bigger issue. but, i would also say that this is just one case of an account being terminated for a mislabeled reason. i stand by the fact that imo it was justified, but this is still just one case. one case where imo it was still justified, just mislabeled

Well i move toward anything that is logical imo. What 2 consenting adults do is no one's business especially the government. The bad part is that feminists and the like move toward the nordic model. There is something about the demonization of men. I notice that alot in majority female groups on reddit. Like i threw some motivational comments in a sub for lonely women and got attacked by the mods for spreading false hope and calling people beautiful. But yeah feminist actually hurt their movement more than anything. They are doing petitions and pushing conressmen to legalize this even here in US. I like learning about the world and things outside my day to day life. While this doesnt directly affect me i thinkbits a great way to get rid of human trafficking. As if there is a market, why would we need this? It wont help woth organ harvesting and slave labor/sex slaves. But it will combat it more. Child prostitution i dont see an immediate fix for tho its just one of those evils that will happen as its taboo and people will seek it out. But if we can fix this maybe that can help crack down more on that? Yeah idk tbh

fem·i·nism /ˈfeməˌnizəm/ Learn to pronounce noun the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. by definition, anyone who gives a shit about women rights is a feminist (its like when you inform transphobes they have preferred pronouns too lol)

@momoichi Having seen the original video there were clear markers for it being satire and parody. Somebody would have to be rather foolish not to see it as such. The main message behind it was that CNN is full of crap which is a sentiment I agree with. However copyright is what the entire account was banned on. You can have individual messages deleted under the "copyright" category meaning that you could have his account banned on misinformation as a separate charge. The video was clearly parody so misinformation is something they couldn't get Carpe Donktum off of there for so they went for copyright. It can be well argued that neither was the case here. Most recent example was Steven Crowder when he presented evidence of voters on the voter roll with registered residences that were literally street corners, abandoned buildings as well as industrial parks. Twitter had temporarily banned him for "misinformation" which I fail to see how that is misinformation as that is exactly what we are looking at. It is publicly available information that anybody can access. The account has since been reinstated but the post has not despite it being within Twitter's TOS. Which also goes dangerously into the zone of publisher not platform. Back to the CP. Don't ask me why Twitter wants it on there so long, all I know is that it is on there far longer than any other platform allows similar content to be on there. As to the reason, I have no clue. It is not as if they are not notified of it's existence, especially in the case of the exploited teenager where he confirmed his identity as being the person in the clip and Twitter still refused to remove it.

@dyadka_yar you believe the election was rigged? because homeland security disagrees with the fact that any substantial vote tampering of any kind took place, and I'm inclined to believe them over some youtubers if you link me an article that discusses what steven crowder was talking about I'm sure i can debunk it and you knew it was satire but when the president retweets it and shows it to such a broad audience i think that it crosses that line. any ambiguity would become misinterpreted. you say it was 'clearly parody' but i don't agree. the right has literally doctored videos of politicians to make them look bad and passed it off as 'clearly joking'
