@momoichi yes i have read this article, its basically the same stuff we bring up in our daily meetings at my clinic. While yes masks offer a sort of layer of protection opposed to literally nothing at all. Masks are only effective when you practice other habits in addition to this. Such as not letting the mask drop past your nose, not touching your mask frequently, using 2-3 ply fabric, social distancing and sanitizing. If you are someone who generally doesnt get sick as often even when stuff like the flu comes around you are probably going to be safer than most since you already practice the good hygiene needed to stop from getting the flu. Masks however are not really that useful, its mainly to prevent you from getting others sick. While yes you have no way of knowing if you are sick, if you never put urself in a position where that is possible chances are you probably wont be.

@natsuko Iowa is like a lot of states where the name comes from a Native American word, name or tribe of the area. Totally different phonetic structure than that we are used to. I think Iowa was named after the tribe that inhabited the area called the Ioway tribe or something like that. On the matter of infections, this is also reported infections. Basically you can be like me where I was infected at the start of the outbreak around March or something of last year. I didn't notice and life went on as normal. Then when I get tested in June and that is when I get reported as an infection for June. So if you haven't been counted as having covid and you get tested and it turns out you were infected at some point then it gets counted. So whether these people are sick, asymptomatic or otherwise everybody is thrown in the same pot.

Being frank, my uncle died. Due to COVID. Yes, his health wasn't the best before the infection but the infection is what killed him. So I would rather be save than sorry. I leave my house once a day for my daily walk.. but that's it.
