I'm surprised voter ID isn't required to vote in some areas. One would think that a nation would properly identify that a person is eligible to vote if their vote can affect the leadership of the country. ¯\(°_o)/¯

https://youtu.be/-BihP-wFJ_o Thinking about getting this to read. Sounds interesting. I wonder if the authors considered if the information age would speed this process up. The Fourth Turning - The authors look back five hundred years and uncover a distinct pattern: Modern history moves in cycles, each one lasting about the length of a long human life, each composed of four eras—or "turnings"—that last about twenty years and that always arrive in the same order. In The Fourth Turning, the authors illustrate these cycles using a brilliant analysis of the post-World War II period. First comes a High, a period of confident expansion as a new order takes root after the old has been swept away. Next comes an Awakening, a time of spiritual exploration and rebellion against the now-established order. Then comes an Unraveling, an increasingly troubled era in which individualism triumphs over crumbling institutions. Last comes a Crisis—the Fourth Turning—when society passes through a great and perilous gate in history. Together, the four turnings comprise history's seasonal rhythm of growth, maturation, entropy, and rebirth.

@verucassault what really opened my eyes to the whole cycle thingy is when they basically said (and this isnt exact words) "good times only last 3 generations. Good men create a better future, the next generation inherited that future and doesnt know what it took to get there, and the third generation feels entitled to it. By the 4th gen they fail and thus restarts the cycle again" I feel thats the case. Alot of people are entitled and dont know what it took for them to be where they are rn. They live off the success of the previous generation. The only thing i dont agree on is everyone beingnon the same cycle. Rn im a first genner, because i went through struggle and im building up success for my next generation (if i have any XD).

I really think 2021 NPC talk is just a meme... But there I was at 2016/17, age 15, supporting the LGBT mob... how much I regret it. And it was just in 2020 that I learned that every social movement vyes for hegemony rather than equality.
