In context, he was trying to explain why it was such a problem discussing these topics to his guest, comedian Jim Breuer who has said he's been having these conversations with his college-aged daughter. JRE mentioned that before, it was thought that puberty blockers caused no irreversible damage, however they are now saying that they can and would require surgery to reverse.
