Uniting? By continuing to ally with the Saudis that fund ISIS just to antagonize with Iran on Yemen? And letting Turkey shit on the Kurds they have supported, leaving France, of all countries to try and intervene on them. China budged? Then how could they continue violating maritime frontiers and gaining a new powerful ally in the form of Myanmar? It might have budged, though. But it could be minor at best...

@mountain_tiger like what? liberals lean more socialist than communist in that we just want a regulated capitalism. that is not communism in the same way a republican isn't a nazi because they both endorse nationalism. what does a capitalism ideology have in common with a communist one??

I'm doubtful North Korea actually desires to destroy Japan or South Korea. Both nations contribute greatly to their foreign aid every year. Really, North Korea is a pocket boogey-man. South Korean politicians have even bribed North Korean military officials to stage minor "assaults" and "shellings" of the South Korean border for political reasons. North Korea also makes a lot of money off of South Korea because they preserve Joseon era artifacts and sell them to South Korean collectors. The real regional threat is the PRC, NK is just a distraction, even if they have nukes and a satellite. o7

The biggest problem with China vs US is that too much of US production infrastructure is in China. They make our computer parts, phones, plastics, pharmaceuticals and other nonsense. If the US doesn't have it's own production facilities for these things and cuts off trade with China, then the US is going to be in a worse off position. The only option is build up factories for computers, phones, medicines, toys and everything else in the US or a closely allied nation and then cut off trade with China. Doing such a thing would involve a lot of legislation that would piss a lot of people off such as tax write-offs for making these production facilities to big corporations. We invested too much in China and we created a monster that is taking every advantage of that. Not to mention Chinese subversion campaigns that are adding fuel to the fire that is burning the social cohesion of nations as we speak. There is time to stop China, but that time is quickly running out.
