@Verucassault Your debt IS your debt, though. My ex had debt, we got married, she still had debt, we got divorced and her debt still stayed hers. We didn't sign together for ANY loan or ANY credit cards. I mean, if your credit score is kind of low, that can definitely effect his. Otherwise? Just keep your shit separate.

Good to know. When my parents got divorced the fact that he filed for bankruptcy right before it was all finalized affected her credit. So now the thought of combining anything worries me.

I dont wish to take on anyone debt. I wont apply for anything with anyone else, keeping bank accounts separate. What belongs to me, belongs to me. Nowadays being together forever is just wishful thinking. As nice as a happily ever after sounds alot of divorces are happeningm so if i end up having to leave someone i want everything from THEIR life gone. Including debt.
