horrifically embarrassing story time that i wish i could wipe from my memory because it does nothing but make me feel bad i bought a big bag of cheetos at the convenient store and i felt self conscious because of it, so when the cashier remarked about how big the bag was i impulsively said i was bringing it to a party i was not dressed to go to a party, and the guy behind me had a smirk like, 'fat fuckin liar, who would believe that?' i shouldn't have said anything, and to this day the very remembrance brings him utter shame and embarrassment

@momoichi you could probably still pass for a teen now. Based on that here's what I think was going through their heads. The cashier was probably reminded of their kids or nephews/nieces and wanted to say something to you. So they jump to your purchase and mention that it's big just to talk with you. The guy behind was probably smiling cause he's been in a similar situation buying something embarrassing and you looked endearing in that moment like he has before.
