2020 US Presidential Election

I would be surprised if most business owners wanted a higher minimum wage. The purpose of a business is to maximize profits. Most business expenses of a company are do to employees. If companies paid their employees more. The higher minimum wage would effect their bottom line. Which would effect their profits. I am not arguing neither for nor against an increase in mim wage here. I'm just stating the companies point of view.

doesn't matter what they want, its good for them. most people are idiots that fight against their own self interest *cough republicans cough cough* whats important is the slow integration of a 15 dollar minimum wage, that way smaller businesses arent overwhelmed do that and its peachy

Though minimum wage has not kept up with inflation. That is probably one of the best arguments for an increase in minimum wage. Anyone with a family living under minimum wage is kinda fucked in the long term. Anyone living paycheck to paycheck is unable to invest on financial instruments that at least keep with inflation or at the very best out pace inflation. Devaluation of currency makes fiat money more worthless over time. Remember when hot Cheetos were 99 cents? Now they're like almost two bucks. Welcome to inflation baby.

well thats why we make it mandatory. so no one is without it. if only big businesses have to abide by 15 dollar minimum age then it wont be wide spread enough to force real inflation that would harm the working class I'm not a fan of unregulated capitalism, I'm a socdem, so i would prefer if the government controlled things like inflation anyways.

@verucassault & @arc I really don't think Georgia turned blue just from people moving here. Voter registration soared here after BLM protests broke out and the areas where ballots helped us surpass Trump were very black areas. As an Atlanta native this place has always been heavily blue and every suburb I moved to were all very very blue even though we were extremely racially and economically mixed. ANYWAYS. I'm so glad my state flipped and Atlanta pulled through because GA is such a polarizing place.
