In the previous elections, I'd give a shit in the US. But knowing it's between Trump and any dem, I catch myself thinking wtf is wrong with muricans. Americans just deserve the shitty governments they had. Not that I can say anything regarding it, because I voted for someone worse in my country. 2022 will come and I will vote for someone else for president. For now, I'll mind the mayor elections here in São Paulo. I learned some good things while venturing between political theories: 1. Liberal Capitalism sucks, but it isn't worse than National Developmentalism and Socialism 2. Everyone wants to "immanentize the Eschaton". After all, that's the spirit of having an Ideology, which is different to being sympathetic to an Idea 3. Economical indexes provided by Liberal Capitalism can't offset the growing liberal influence in society. In fact, they even reinforce said influence. 4. As I've said in another thread: it's very tempting to be a far-rightist. But I am glad that I know they also wanna "immanentize the Eschaton" 5. Democracy sucks in general and no way in the ten Hells I am idolizing that shit like the twats in my country.

I did not say about political position. Liberal Capitalism is lack of interventionism and protectionism. It doesn't depend whether the sympathizer is Liberal or not.

And well, if you told this to me one or two years ago I would think on changing my mind, as I was pretty Liberal (a Liberal Conservative, that is. And no, they are not opposites, as the opposite of a Liberal is a Reactionary). Economical indexes aren't as important to me as the culture of an society, a thing that even Conservatives are failing to preserve. But here I am, a Conservative, because I cannot condone the revolutionary thought defended by Progressivists (Liberals/Dems) and Reactionaries (Fascists/Alt-Right).

ooohohh im not very educated on anti protectionist stuff but from what i know I'm on the side of an open market and I'm a pretty big globalist to be a super power you need influence in the world, it gives you certain protections and it is something we have lost under trump china is now taking our place in that regard, and that is not something we want now i agree that a capitalism is a necessary evil when it comes to innovation, and innovation is extremely, extremely important to the power of a country, but I'm personally a socdem, i think that we can have innovation through capitalism but still protect the people by putting restrictions on certain markets i believe we can protect the people and the environment and still have the kind of innovation America is known for
