Look at Brazil, it has a lot of great minds. But most of talented Brazilians flee from here because of its 0-gain tax system, hostile business panorama, fucked up public systems and constant economical crisis brought up by these.

The problem with that article is that it contradicted itself. Because it said one way small businesses cope is by furloughs or lay offs. Last time i checked (about a year ago) small business accounted for almost 47% of the nations employment, so with the 47% of the whole nation you want to hike up their wages, so more people may get laid off, so people have less money. Granted places with 15 an hour have more money, but higher cost of living. You can rent a house here for 600, wherease in those places you are looking for thousands... (from as cheap as 1k im sure, but upwards and higher too)
The problem is anytime you mess with money, it messes with everything else too... also keep in mind im talking from restaurant, so i am a bit biased, as food service is NOT a lucrative business venture

The current situation is a double edged sword. You either save the people but risk total collapse which will also kill more as a result of crime and desperation. Or you take your chances and let nature run its course. In this case we chose take our chances. And we are fine as you see. If our civilization was gonna be wiped out thats just how it is. A quarantine isnt gonna stop that, whether people believe so or not. We just need better planning.
As for the military there are other factors at play. Its not as bad as you think but its also not easy. Not gonna get into that though.

I think what Frozen meant was that the contributors' satisfaction should be economics' aim, not prosperity among other countries or some kind of national dream or pride.

Ah. The moment im told im wrong for my experience. I may as well take the loss and be suppressed. We LITERALLY cant increase our wages without raising our prices above the corporates nearby. But what do i know. Im just a lowly restaurant owner

@nebelstern i'm a big fan of the mish-mash public/private partnerships. that's the shit that's proven to work time and time again. everything seems to work better when people from both sides just work together, it seems.
@momoichi i did mean happy as 'content with the current quality of life'. and that quality of life is directly affected by 'job creators'. the average person spends their limited time here on this planet dutifully working for someone else. i find it very silly that rich people get surprised when the HUMAN LIVES that they WRING DRY LIKE WET TOWELS FOR RESOURCES get noticeably upset at the poor treatment they receive. *especially* after the revolutions in personal freedoms and liberty we've seen in the west. it's just too late to go back to runaway oligarchy/aristocracy/dictatorship/monarchy or any system that doesn't openly put the power in the hands of the median individual.
but ngl @nebelstern i do have a poetic respect for your affinity with aristocracy. it's heartwarming in a weird way. i mean that honestly!

At last, finally a point where I and Frozen agree! Excellent! Public-private partnerships in the health system were one of the few things the leftists did right here. Bolsonaro tried to broaden this, but the mainstream media accused him of trying to privatize the health system (A BIG FUCKING LIE), to which he backed down. It would be one of the few good things he'd do.
My affinity with aristocracy comes from my natural skepticism towards politician and people alike. Because median people are easy to manipulate and politicians use this power changing to completely subvert the previous programs.
What I mean is, there is not a single shred of consistence in modern politics.

your cherry picking
it says that historically jobs increase
"A common argument against minimum wage increases is that they will result in the loss of jobs. However, historic research suggests the opposite could be true. In one study, economists David Card and Alan B. Krueger examined a 1992 minimum wage hike in New Jersey and compared how the restaurant industry (often considered to be the most impacted by minimum wage increases) fared against similar establishments in neighboring Pennsylvania. Not only did New Jersey's fast-food employment grow, it outpaced Pennsylvania's by 13% that year."
your picking one thing out of all the good it DOES do and saying this 'what if' is enough to collapse the economy.
@taiyou also i never said your experience was wrong... i said it has no place in a debate about a nation. if i stubbed my toe on a piece of furniture and you didn't that doesn't mean my toe wasn't studded. anecdotes just have no place in debates over universial things.

(OFF)
It is funny Neocons saying that Hungary, Ukraine, Georgia and even fucking Israel are bastions of Christianity in Europe and the Middle East while in reality they are supporting or staying silent (US) to Azerbaijan and Turkey's atrocities in Nagorno-Karabakh (except for Georgia, that is just bitching with Russia) where most of its people consists on Christians...
