@songofsisyphus I expected you would throw Eco's depictions as an answer. I am not one to say a single author is the definitive answer to all questions. I already saw this and it is used to label any Conservative candidate as a Fascist, even the least of Conservative ones. Even though I am not Fascist, I say I am MORE FASCIST than Thwomp. Cult of Tradition/Rejection of Modernity: He seems not to like modern era. Like what? The current epithome of modernist politics is to be a progressist (feminist, LGBT supporter, racial ""equality""). So it is just natural to be against this when one IS a Conservative. And well, he profits a lot from modernity, by swooping a ton women via his money and getting away with it (I see that polyamory, adultery and such shit should be actual offenses). "Treating women like human beings"/"Not a misogynist" translates into: Make socially acceptable that women fall in the same degenerated way men have ever since the Sexual Revolution. Let them weaponize divorce just like men did... really! How inhumane is to put limits into people's desires, how tyrannical. Two wrongs never make a hit. Family became moot when men have accepted they can get away with cheating on their wives. They started abandoning their wives and dooming the families they have created to hunger. And you want women to do the same? Twisted. Nothing short of twisted. This isn't freedom, this is accepting one is nothing but a beast. "Free movement of people" translates into: Rioting and threatening, shaming and cancelling the income of everyone that openly disagrees with them or says something they don't like. Now I would like to know. Why would an international government be good for a country? A culture will stand above the others, and most certainly it won't be your forsaken one. And Globalism and Globalization are two different things. The Cult of Action for Action’s Sake: "Suleimani assassinated". A general from a country that plays proxy wars against Saudi Arabia in Syria and Yemen should have never been killed? Truly? The US had no reason to be in Syria to begin with, and it makes all hypocritical because of their terrorist actions in Yemen. Suleimani had to die, he was part in the Syrian proxy war. I dislike Iran as much as I dislike Saudi Arabia (and consequentially the US) for funding terrorism and throwing the Middle East in chaos. Thwomp should've be arrested for doing rallies amidst COVID-19 pandemic. Just like my president deserves to be arrested for such. It should be a crime against public health (I dunno in US, but there is a crime of the sorts here). Disagreement is treason: Nothing to disagree. Never disagreed that Thwomp is just a rabid child that can just complain when the media points out his bullshit. Fear of difference: Rampant populism and fearmongering people for his own Nationalist agenda of wanting to make "America for Americans". The end isn't wrong, but the means are. Nothing that surprises me, because this isn't a Fascist thing. This is a NATIONALIST thing. About Marxist in Universities, it is true in my country, but hell I doubt it is in yours, so I give it to you on that. Leftists in my country maintain their base by saying everything against them is a plot of the CIA, the IMF, the Jews, and every other bullshit of the kind. So this doesn't work, chap. Pacifism is Trafficking with the Enemy: Okay, I just guess it is because he just knows Pacifism is utter horsecrap when you are a country and... has actual other countries and organizations that openly hate you and are like in a Holy War against you? ...a bit easy, isn't it? Contempt for the Weak: Minorities, that is? Bah. No political force really likes them except for dedicated minorities. They just allow them into their parties to not look "sexist" or "racist" in the photo. Nothing is genuine when it comes to politics. Everybody is Educated to be a Hero: Sending people to their deathes for their country because of Nationalism. Cannot disagree with this, because Thwomp just passes the image that he likes the US and its founding values. So no disagreements between you and I. Machismo: Aaah! The strength and dominance of men in society. Where is the wrong in that, anyways? Well, "Machismo" isn't sexual prowess, it is the romantization of strong men becoming unwavering rulers. Selective populism was answered. He is a Nationalist, so there's only two ways for one to get in power. To do a revolution or to wallow for the masses.
