And the reason the relief bill was rejected is because of all the bloat they added to it, some of which had NOTHING to do with covid relief. Every attempt Republicans have made at targeted relief packages for the people who needed it the most, the Democrats have shut down. Finally Trump said enough is enough, and in a moment of stupidity gave up on getting a relief package passed, which he can't do without democrats votes because they control the House. And he later retracted his statement. Trump is not holding a relief bill hostage. He rejected 1 bad proposal. Again, the democrats have been rejecting relief packages for months. Every republican and even 17 democrats in the House voted against that bill because of the excess in it. And one big reason it was rejected is because they tried to sneak in controversial voting changes right before election. "Pelosi’s bill promises school districts $225 billion, but only $5 billion, or 2%, would go to making schools safer by improving air quality or installing sinks and other hygiene upgrades. The rest is a teachers union protection plan. Astonishingly, school districts that economize and reduce per-pupil spending or change labor contracts are automatically ineligible for stimulus funding." $220 billion for schools that the schools never see? Any why should any school be ineligible for stimulus help? Even Democrats thought this was a bad bill.

Because the House is controlled by the Democrats. It is literally impossible for him to get any kind of targeted stimulus passed without support from the democratic party, which the absolutely refuse to give. As they have proven time and again as the rejected every other stimulus package that has been proposed. The democrats decided they would pass their stimulus package with all the extra BS, or NO stimulus package. So in a moment of anger he gave up on trying to get stimulus passed. Because he refused to pass a stimulus package that included controversial voting changes right before the election. And as you are aware, he retracted that very statement hours later, and tried to open up negotiation again. You are perfectly capable of using google Lamby.
