2020 US Presidential Election

@nebelstern studying history is important. for sure. for all the obvious reasons it is. and while you have that rationale that you do, which isn't too ridiculous to have, i will say that, you still are letting those before you weave rifts between you and your fellow humans. no matter what caste/class/status an individual has, they are still an individual with a similar ability to understand that they exist, as with you or anyone else. to refer to "minorities bettering their lot" seems rather crass in that regard. yeah there are minor physiological differences in the human races but to section them off in 'lots' feels regressive in uniting the human race on the same civilized/technological front. unless i'm misunderstanding, of course. I guess that comes from my romanticized take on what it means to be a person here on earth and ngl, i haven't studied fuck all for history. my views come from what i've seen in public school and whatever else with my own eyes. some minor history gleaned here and there but not very much, ultimately. it's written by the victors anyway, it's pretty skewed, just as everything else out of a person's mouth =p

@frozenxheavens I am skeptical, but I am still too moody and thus I come out as a dick. But still, your questioning and argumentation are valid. My message is: beware when others say about the power of the people and how righteous it is. It is as corruptible by a sly fox as with any power held by the higher classes.

hey I appreciate the micro just as much as the macro. what is a society other than a composition of individuals? people are powerful together, but yeah we're still just people and anything we wield is susceptible to influence. it's part of our nature! if we weren't susceptible to pressure and influence from our peers then we would never have developed language or any sense of community at all. my main bit is I just want to see that same gravy train that spawned all those community-oriented things keep on trucking. like damn we ain't ever gonna see real space travel and the true potential for tech advancements if we just keep screaming at each other for not being as dope as we want each other to be. everyone's gotta come off their shit, world governments, world denizens, and just respect each other enough to work together as the human race. not TOO much to ask, right? =p

So I just remembered I hadn't checked my mail and what do I find but the absentee ballot I requested 3 weeks ago. Though I have voted in person regularly since I was 18, this is my first time doing it by mail. I have to say these are some dumb instructions. Why do I need a witness if the whole point of voting is to do it anonymously? - They already have my information to prove if I am a fraud or legit. Getting a witness is pointless!

protip; you can always just hand it in at your local poling station

If I wanted to drive across town to do all that I would just go vote in person instead of by mail. - Tell you what Lamby, how bout I get you to be my witness, haha!

Here is a good election question. Should gerrymandering be allowed?
