Making / Keeping Friends

Make a basic attempt to learn and meet the emotional needs of the other without any expectations for your own being met. This is a good way to keep them going, assuming you have already gotten things rolling. Also, do make sure you know the red flags for manipulators and malignantly narcissistic personality types, because they have tendencies to poison friendship circles and make them toxic. Handle the people you let into your life with care, and treat the ones who are worth having with care, and you will find maintaining friendships to be fairly easygoing. Also, take drama with a grain of salt if you aren't involved directly. Like be there for the people who need it, but accept that humans are imperfect creatures by nature, and emotions aren't exactly logical.

Not that I am a master of IRL friends, but you should keep your eccentricities at bay, if you have any. Act more like a NPC.

Narcissistic people can be easy to turn the tables on, ironically. In my experience, their obsession with their own greatness is the easiest thing to use against them.
